Agenda

  • Run 68: n,gamma coincidence with S101 (aka HV#4, Si HV prototype)
    • Hold-time runs at different biases done, haven't looked at them yet
    • First reprocessing is finished: all standard -125V datasets (bg, Na22, PuBe - 228 hours total)
      • with CDMS cluster only, processing time ≈ 60% of run time (so all -125V data would take 6 days)
      • with CDMS+CMS clusters, processing time ≈ 17% of run time (so all -125V data takes 1.6 days)
    • Working on analysis task list
    • Found some glitches
  • LIPs analysis
  • Future runs
    • Future 150mm runs
      • 150mm w/phonons - need to design 600mK rod to accommodate 150mm cans
      • Received 4/3-inch DIBs from TAMU - now we can house either detector for phonon readout (would need to machine faces on 4/3-inch housing for DIBs)
      • S1501 and S1502 sent back to TAMU
    • Future HVeV runs?
      • Berkeley can help us with a Soudan-style housing mount (3“ or 4”?)
      • then use original tower, can try different heatsinking for colder SQUID card
      • would need to install optical fiber
        • through top or through stripline tube? need vacuum feedthrough
        • Look at Prisca's deuterium lamp/monochromator/filters, glass UV fiber
      • Is PuBe NR calibration feasible?
        • 1×1×0.4 cm^3 is 630× smaller than SNOLAB detector. Anthony estimates 25 events/day (over full spectrum) for Si, 250 events/day for Ge. any chance we could get multiple chips?
        • Nick's idea: sandwich between two 4“ Ge detectors for gamma coincidence (large solid angle coverage)
    • Other ideas:
      • try GeHV n,gamma again but with vacuum interface
      • run SiHV with Nick's movable Am source (or with multiple Am sources)
      • run SiHV with no 4K heatsinking
      • re-run USD1? do we have any additional ideas to test it?
      • anything else?
  • Processing and Analysis
    • Run 67 (re-run of USD1)
      • probably time to reach out to Kyle Sundqvist, Aaron Phipps
    • Run 65 (Si 150mm 5Q 1/2-vacuum-interface)
      • 150 mm paper published here
    • Need to start Phonon Collection Efficiency paper (HV2, HV4, iZIP pathfinder). Noah says he's willing to participate, should revisit in September
    • Run 62 (HV#4, Si)
      • planning to work on low-energy calibration
    • Run 63 (Ge iZIP pathfinder)
      • need to analyze Cf data
  • Old/continuing items:
    • exploring ideas for improvements without upgrade: sidewall sources?
    • Run 62 (HV#4, Si) post-mortem: two “bad” channels seem not to be wiring problems, maybe the problem is on the detector (photos)
    • Lab infrastructure
      • still need to send back-up He-3 pump to Oerlikon/Leybold for service/repair
      • plans to try to improve helium recovery
        • add length of copper tubing to recovery line, to warm helium on the way to the meter. We have used it and it seems to do something. But no indication yet that it is improving recovery.
        • maybe try to recover helium while waiting for the transfer stick to cool before hookup
      • DAQ and data pipe
      • DAQ upgrade - discussed with Bruno about IbIs tool development
      • Data storage and backup:
        • Need to copy all Run 60 and some Run 61 data to SLAC
      • Autoprocessing and data organization development:
        • currently autoprocessing suspended, no “official” processing for Runs 60, 61, 62
        • clean up database - some info missing. Consider adding additional info
    • Possible plan to modify DCRCs (resistor swap) so we can increase front-end gain, improve IbIs (suggestion from Bruno)
