2017/06/20 (Tuesday)

Previous Day

Status Tower removed from fridge. Mixture has been cryocleaned 3 times. Fridge is evacuated but should probably be pumped out again. 1K Pot needle valve is open, so now there will be air in the pot, should pump it out before cooling. Cryostat vacuum jacket has been pumped down to 190 ubar, maybe should be pumped out more before cooling.
0830 Lab = 22.7 C, 42% humidity.

To do:

  • Open S101 housing and look at “bad” channels. We seem to have exhausted all possible wiring problems, see if there are any hints that the channels are not continuous on the detector.
  • Repair side coaxes using wirebonder
  • Electrical checkout for charge channels on 1) SQUETs 2) striplines

Run 62:

1525 Remove S101 from purge to look at the bad channels
1550 Put S101 back in purge
S101 Side 2. In each photo, UMN DIB1 is at the bottom.

Run 63:

0845 Bring side coaxes to wirebonder lab. Wirebonder settings for Cu strip - to - pad on resistor: power 480/450, time 30/30, bond height 50, drop before clamp 10
0910 Repair ST-3-9
0930 Partially repair ST-3-10
1150 Electrical check on ST-3-9 - it isn't fixed. Same readings as yesterday.
1155 Electrical check on ST-3-10 - it isn't fixed either. Same readings as yesterday.
1245 Back in wirebonder lab, fix another loose bond on ST-3-9. Electrical check should shows it's working.
1310 Rewirebond ST-3-10 qI Rbias - seems to be working.
1330 Rewirebond ST-3-10 qO Rbias - seems to be working.
1345 Rewirebond ST-3-3 qI Rfeedback - seems to be working.
1405 Rewirebond ST-3-3 qO Rfeedback - seems to be working.

1505 Remove Soudan tower from purge cabinet
Soudan Tower
date: 2015-06-20 who: NM GR
Face 1 2 3 4 5 6
Channels All around 30 Ω ~30Ω ~30Ω ~30Ω ~30Ω ~30Ω

Checked that each channel was continuous and not grounded to chassis.

1520 Remove Am source from 150 mm electrode and put on bottom shelf of cabinet above (not clean bench). Visual inspection shows that the kapton tape came loose, but otherwise nothing troubling. Did not inspect the crystal itself.
Pb source holder
We want to use a particular Am source holder this run so that
the others can be modified for the 150mm setup. But if we use
the Pb holder as is, we need the small Am holder with the offset
collimator. Or we could drill a new hole in the plate centered
between the screw holes. Need to assess in either case whether
the source position would be too close to the outer rim.
