2017/12/04 (Monday)

Previous Day

Setup: DIB1/3/4 → SL 27/19/20 → 3.2 MHz filters → cables 2,1,3 → HV board inputs 1,3,2 → HV board outputs 1,2 → DCRC55(1)/50(3). Also DCRC4 is powered and hooked up to control the HV setting.
0906 Tower/MC/Coldplate = 22.5/24.6/161 mK, Still = 1.4 K / 0.100 mbar, G1/G2 = 256/253 mbar, 1K Pot = 1.61 K / 22 mbar, MB = 36.6%
0912 Fill LN2 cold trap full.
1123 Adjust some driver offsets. Again snap and relock DCRC3PC.
1124 Start Noise HV scan sequence HVscan-65_75V-15_5PreBias-30Flash-5wait-1hrData.msl Sequence takes data at 65, 75 V HV biases with 15% prebias for 5 min and 30s flash with 5 min wait between each 1 hr series. Random triggering, 1000 BOR randoms. DriverGains=1, QETbias = (DCRC1PA/PB/PC)/(DCRC3PB/PC/PD) = (480/370/510)/(470/380/500). Cooldown time is short to observe baseline shifts during post-flash cooldown.
1145 HV = 65.03 V, V_leak = 10.67 mV
1205 Based on IbIs studies I've chosen new QET bias values based on various criteria: avoiding oscillation regimes, and being in a relatively flat region in both the TES power and dP/dI prefactor curves.
channel previous QET bias [uA] new QET bias [uA]
DCRC1pA 480 460 480
DCRC1pB 370 360
DCRC1pC 510 450
DCRC3pB 470 480
DCRC3pC 380 380
DCRC3pD 500 490
1313 HV = 74.96V, V_leak = 33.06 mV Note: These are ~10x higher than yesterday. We probably need to control the humidity at the E-box. It's rainy today and the humidity in the lab is around 40%.
1426 Begin LHe transfer @ 28.5%
1516 End transfer @ 89.7%
1525 1K Pot = 1.60 K / 24 mbar. Tweak needle valve open a little further. 1K Pot → 1.61 K / 26 mbar, only a slight difference.
1535 As in Run 62 we are sealing a bag around the ebox and running a hose from the LN2 Dewar vent to the bag, with the vent valve open just enough to feel some flow.
1550 Apply the new QET bias settings from the table above. Set all the Driver Gains to x8. Adjust Driver Offsets to place baselines around -0.2 - -0.3 V.
1628 Set HV=70V to select reasonable trigger threshold w/HV. Change Driver gains back to x1 to make this easier. Triggering on DCRC1PA with an ADC threshold of 4 just starts to trigger on noise. Let's use a threshold of 10 to be safe.
1637 HV = 69.93 V, V_leak = 4.64 mV The N2 purge bag seems to be helping!
1639 Set HV = 0 V
1640 Fill LN2 cold trap full.
1642 Flash for 30s
1804 Start HV scan sequence HVscan-0_30_65_70_75V-15_5PreBias-30Flash-30wait-1hrData.msl Sequence takes data at 0, 30, 65, 70, 75 V HV biases with 15% prebias for 5 min and 30s flash with 30 min wait between each 1 hr series. Trigger = DCRC1PA = 10 ADC, 10000 BOR randoms. DriverGains=1, QETbias = (DCRC1PA/PB/PC)/(DCRC3PB/PC/PD) = table above. Taking extra randoms to get clean PSDs.
1954 HV = 64.92 V, V_leak = 2.63 mV
