Agenda

  • Operations:
    • Run 61 (HV#2) status
      • Second PuBe neutron activation performed
      • More 2-side data taken
      • IbIs studies for the purpose of calculating phonon collection efficiency, improving on previous efforts
      • Plans for what's next
        • attempt phonon collection efficiency measurement (may or may not need more data)
        • switch back to HV mode and take data at biases
          • look for the lower activation peaks
          • calculate Luke gain, verify detector bias
          • will have to do flash-and-take manually, no overnight HV data
        • Characterize “breakdown”
        • Probably won't get to Noah's suggestions, including more detailed complex impedance studies
        • Probably won't get to noise-versus-HV data
      • Run timing
        • Si HV#4 could arrive as early as next Wednesday
        • won't quite be ready to end this run but will try not to delay much
  • Processing and Analysis
    • Run 60, 6“ detector, analysis
    • need to get back to work on NSOF, should test whether resolution is improved with new filtering
    • Then work on reprocessing old data
  • Lab infrastructure
    • Welcoming Gina and Jacob, new undergrads, to the crew
    • difficulties getting CAEN HV supply to work remotely from linux machines, giving up for now
  • Physics
    • Measuring low-energy comptons with 88Y, triggering with external detectors
    • Low-energy NR peaks from neutron capture in Ge, external trigger
  • DAQ and data pipe
    • DAQ upgrade soon
    • Data storage and backup:
      • Need to copy Run 60 data to SLAC
      • Need to clean up vuk1/vuk2 before they are retired. Need to ask Angie again when she will finish copying data
    • Autoprocessing and data organization development:
      • should work on implementing smart processing so that data with different configurations can be processed automatically
      • should add more info to database, particularly for potential outside manpower
