Previous Day

  • Lab in-personnel: Himangshu, Zach
Status Run 78 ending.
1300 Fridge ran out of LHe, G1>999mbar, G2~900-1000mbar
1305 Close V6, then close V13A and open V9, then begin to open V6 again and open V3
1316 Close 1K Pot needle valve
1318 Close V1 and still gate valve, to pump just on LN2 Trap 1 until it's empty.
1320 Close 1K Pot speedivalve, V4a, 4He pump inlet valve. Turn off 4He pump. Close recovery valve to 4He pump outlet. NOTE: remember to open recovery valve when the pump is turned back on.
1325 Isolate LN2 Trap 1 which is now pumped (P1<.1mbar) out to dump (close V12a and speedivalve)
1326 Continue pumping on the fridge lines (open Still Gate Valve and V1)
1332 MC/Still/1K Pot/Sorb = 0.98/3.2/>7/13 K
1341 Stop pumping out fridge (close V1, V3, Still Gate valve, Condenser speedivalve). G2(Dump) = 635.6 mbar

Ptrue[mbar] = Pdisplay[mbar] + ( Pbar[inHg] - 29.92 ) * 33.86

1344 MC = 1.29 K. Sorb = 14.1 K
1348 Close V6. G2 = 636.0 mbar. Corrected dump pressure = 632.95 mbar.
1348 Isolate dump (close V9) and turn off 3He pump.
1430 Add a tube length of He exchange gas to the IVC (turbo and CVJ closed). IVC = 22 ubar, MC= 5.25K
1438 Add another tube length of exchange gas. Now IVC = 40 ubar, MC = 5.31 K
1441 Add another tube length of exchange gas, now IVC = 74 ubar, MC = 5.31 K
1449 Add 1.5 more tube lengths of exchange gas, now IVC = 0.12 mbar, close IVC valves.
1455 Pump out line to CVJ
1505 Add 1 tube length of He exchange gas into the pump manifold (turbo, IVC, and CVJ closed) then let the exchange gas into the CVJ.
1506 He recovery meter starting to turn faster

Check bag level in He liquifiying room, was at around 90% with 1 pump on so turn on the 2nd pump

1507 CVJ = 0.22 mbar, MC temp rising

1644 CVJ = 0.03 mbar, recovery meter turning slowly.

1645 Add another tube length of He exchange gas directly into the CVJ, CVJ = 0.25 mbar
