  • Lab in-personnel: Himangshu, Zach, Shubham
Status Run 77 preparation
Setup IVC open. Turbo valved out. tower installation in progress
1107 Electrical check of ZC-31 after connecting to Stripline 41 on Tower Face 5
1210 Check contents of warm LN2 Trap 1: 8.7 mbar. Pump it out with the scroll pump.
1217 G1 = 1.9 mbar and stable, stop pumping on trap 1.
1219 Check contents of warm LN2 Trap 2: 3.5 mbar. Pump it out with the scroll pump.
1223 G1 = 1.7 mbar and stable, stop pumping on trap 2.
1227 Insert cold trap 1 into the LN2 bath, fill bath
1230 Turn on the 3He pump
1235 Begin cryocleaning through cold trap 1
1241 Open V6 to 12.2% to start flow
1259 Open V6 to 12.5% to restart flow, then reduce to 12.4%
1315 Added indium around IVC cap, ended up making it a bit shorter than Matt usually does, but should work.
1329 Open V6 to 12.6% to restart flow
1335 Squet ZC-74 (with the jumper cables) shows some open squid channels after installing, de-install for more electrical checks.
1337 Installed some of the heatsinks. Quickly check squet ZC-31 again, feedback A reads too high, a slight press on the interposer board fixes this
1412 Open V6 to 12.7% to restart flow, then reduce to 12.3% to stop the flow from rising too high
1425 Squet ZC-74 seems fine on the bench, but again has some open channels when connected to the striplines. Check the stripline connection (30 and 42 for squid channel D) with a 200 Ohm resistor, it is fine
1445 Stop cryocleaning through cold trap 1, pump mixture to dump
1455 G1 = 1.8, P1 < 0.1 mbar, close all valves, leaving 724.5 mbar in the dump
Added the condition that P1 < 0.1 mbar before stopping pumping mixture to dump, want to conserve mixture as much as possible
Barometric pressure = 29.85“ (source is https://w1.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KMSP.html.) G2 = 724.5 mbar. Corrected dump pressure = 722.1 mbar

Ptrue[mbar] = Pdisplay[mbar] + ( Pbar[inHg] - 29.92 ) * 33.86

1506 Pull cold trap 1 out of the LN2 bath, put cold trap 2 in
1515 Begin cryocleaning through cold trap 2
1519 Open V6 to 12.5% to start flow, then reduced to 12.4%
1520 Squet ZC-74 has a similar issue to squet ZC-31, the connection to the stripline can change in angle, changing which channels are open.
1524 Open V6 to 12.6% to restart flow, then reduced to 12.5%
1558 Open V6 to 12.7% to restart flow, then reduced to 12.6%
1635 Still having trouble with Squet ZC-74's connection, use sandpaper attached to a tweezers to rough up the pins.
1645 Stop cryocleaning through cold trap 2, pump mixture to dump
1657 P1 is low (<0.2mbar) Open V6 further to 30%
1702 G1 = 2.0, P1 = 0.055 mbar, close all valves, leaving 727.3 mbar in the dump
1712 Turn off 3He pump and pull cold trap 2 out of the LN2 bath

1225 Electrical check for ZC74 on stripline 48 on Tower Face 3
1704 ZC74 seems to have issues after connecting at the stripline. First, firmly pressing the stripline head against the SQUET FET board seems to keep some squids/feedback open. We tried sanding on the SQUET pins which look to have some rust on them and won't make all the pins go in nicely. But we observe that keeping a mm of space at the stripline head and trying different angles of the FET board seems to help making those open connections go live.
