Previous Day

  • Lab in-personnel: Himangshu, Zach
Status Run 77 preparation
Setup IVC open. Turbo valved out. tower installation in progress
1107 Did solder pins on ZC74 to reduce pin connection failures after connecting to stripline. Installed the three SQUETS and heatsinks.
1400 Begin installing bottom cap to IVC, perform an electrical check halfway and see that Squet ZC31 with the interposer board has some electrical issues.
1445 When testing the connection directly on the Squet, wiggling certain pins causes the connection to be unstable (seen in feedback A and squid D). Himangshu has a method of remelting the solder holding the pins in without losing the pin. This reseats the pins and fixes any cracks in the solder.

1615 We closed the IVC. Begin gently pumping IVC with Scroll Pump. Initially the turbo pump gauge reads 3.2e2 mbar for few minutes then it started going down.
1621 Begin tightening the bolts on the bottom of the IVC more.
1624 We opened the scroll pump all the way at this point.
1630 The turbo gauge reads 1e-1 mbar so we are switching to turbo pumping now. As we open the turbo valve, we are also slowly closing the scroll pump valve. After the scroll pump valve is completely closed, unplug the scroll pump to stop it.
1714 Attach fill funnel to outside of IVC. Connect the leak checker to the IVC and wait 20 minutes to get it ready. The leak detector read ~5x10e-10 mbar L/s , then we Open the valve on the leak detector while showly closing the turbo valve, the lead detector settles at 1.04e-8 mbar L/s.
Squirt He around bottom IVC joint. No leak detected. Switch back to turbo pumping.
