| Status | Run 77 preparation |
| Setup | DCRC33(2)→HV control, NaI trigger signal → DCRCX(4) |
IVC closed and Turbo pumping for a while. No tower - this was just for a leak test.
Check contents of warm LN2 Trap 2: 3.4 mbar. Pump it out with the scroll pump.
G1 = 1.4 mbar and stable, stop pumping on Trap 2
Fill LN2 cold trap bath.
Begin cryocleaning mixture through cold trap 1
Open V6 to 12.0% to restart flow
Open V6 to 12.3% to restart flow
Starting the procedure to open IVC. We checked the N2 gas pressure at the cylinder and lowered it to 5 PSI (it was about 10 PSI). And connected the N2 gas line to the regulator valve.
Check that the Turbo valve is closed. And Watch the gauge at the regulator value. it Reads 5 PSI. We will open it slowly till the pressure falls and stabilizes but not goes upwards.
We saw the pressure fall to 2 in the regulator gauge. We are monitoring the pressure with the gauge on the Turbo which is slowly rising from 4.6e-1 mbar towards 1 atm
We let N2 leak into the ICV for 5min, the pressure gauge hooked up to the turbo maxed out at .25bar, but stopping the N2 flow and checking with the small regulator valve gauge showed that the IVC is at 2psi, a little higher than ideal
We looked at the check valve on top of the fridge which is mentioned in the procedure, we are unsure of how it works though.
After looking more, it seems the regulator valve gauge just needed a good tapping, it went down to -8 inHg, about matching the turbo pressure gauge.
Filled the IVC with more N2 until the regulator valve gauge read 0 bar.
Stop cryocleaning mixture through trap 1, pump mixture to dump.
G1 = 1.2 mbar, close valves, leaving 714.5 mbar in dump.
Take cold trap 1 out of the LN2 bath and put cold trap 2 in.
Begin cryocleaning mixture through cold trap 2
Open V6 to 12.4% to restart flow
Open V6 to 12.6% to restart flow
To open the IVC, we un-screwed all but two screws and inserted two screws in the two extra holes use for pushing on the vacuum seal. When the seal was broken, we heard a hissing sound of air flowing in/out? After the sound dies down, we checked the pressure reading on the regulator gauge and it went slightly left towards -1 from 0 in Hg. Is it overpressured in this case?
We remove the indium seal scrap from the bottom of the IVC and stored the IVC in the cleanroom
Stop cryocleaning mixture through trap 2, pump mixture to dump.
G1 = 1.3 mbar, close valves, leaving 717.9 mbar in dump
Check contents of warm LN2 Trap 1: 8.6 mbar. Pump it out with the scroll pump.
G1 = 2.7 mbar and stable, stop pumping on trap 1
Pull cold trap 2 out of the LN2 bath and put trap 1 in
Begin cryocleaning mixture through cold trap 1
Open V6 to 12.4% to restart flow
Open V6 to 12.6% to restart flow
Open V6 to 12.7% to restart flow
Stop cryocleaning mixture through trap 1, pump mixture to dump.
G1 = 1.4 mbar, close valves and turn off 3He pump, leaving 713.6 mbar in dump.
Pull cold trap 1 out of the LN2 bath to warm up.
