Previous Day

  • Lab in-personnel: Zach
Status Run 76 in progress
Setup Cables 2/3/1 → diverter/nothing/nothing → Side2-readout HV CONN 1/3/2 → HV 1(L)/2(R) → DCRC50(3)/DCRC55(1), DCRC33(2)→HV control, NaI trigger signal → DCRCX(4)
Lead/poly shield fully assembled. Boron-filled socks covering NaI detectors.
PuBe behind lead wall on West side of lead/poly shield.
NaI trigger window: 7.6-11.2 MeV
Cooled to base yesterday after, Sixth 5K pumpout. Taking -66V NaI-triggered data overnight
Temperature spikes started at 5:25 am although they are very mild so far
0814 Start -66.8 V PuBe data series 82 min long, SiHV-triggered, with 1000 initial randoms, 5 Hz in-run randoms, trigger on DCRC1pB threshold 10.
Start series with the Start Button
0830 HV = -68.7 V, Vtest = -5.3 mV, Ileak = -5.8 uA, Vdet = -66.4 V (97%)..
0830 MC = 28.9 mK
0940 Dial HV down to 0V
1415 Fill LN2 cold trap bath
1415 MC/Coldplate = 31.6/150 mK, Still = 1.13 K / 0.075 mbar / 0 mW, G1/G2 = 135/131 mbar, 1K Pot = 45° / 1.59 K / 13±1 mbar, MB = 66.9%
1422 Swap HV leads to positive bias
1425 Dial HV to +100V nominal, 97.88V actual
1430 HV = 97.9 V, Vtest = 20.4 mV, Ileak = 22.4 uA, Vdet = 88.9 V (91%).
Leakage followed the expected exponential decay, but still is fairly high.
Forgot about prebias, I'll do that now
1432 Dial HV up to +115V nominal, -112.92V actual, for 15% prebias
1437 HV = 112.9 V, Vtest = 42.3 mV, Ileak = 46.6 uA, Vdet = 94.3 V (84%).
1438 Dial HV down to +100V nominal, 97.87V actual
1443 HV = 97.9 V, Vtest = 13.5 mV, Ileak = 14.8 uA, Vdet = 91.9 V (94%).
Leakage is a bit better now
1445 Disable DCRC2, baseline elevated to -.27 on DCRC3 PA and PD
Adjust DCRC3 PA offset 0.87 → 1.12, baseline now ~ -0.79
Adjust DCRC3 PD offset 1.37 → 1.62, baseline now ~ -0.79
Pulses look good now
1457 Start +97.9 V PuBe data series 45 min long, SiHV-triggered, with 1000 initial randoms, 5 Hz in-run randoms, trigger on DCRC1pB threshold 10.
Start series with the Start Button
I just noticed that the MC temp rose to 63 mK starting at 14:40 and is now back down at base 15min later, did what I was doing somehow cause this?
There is also a drop in G1 and G2 at around 14:15 which corrected itself
1546 Start +97.9 V PuBe data series 718 good min long, NaI-triggered, with 1000 initial randoms, 5 Hz in-run randoms, trigger on DCRC4pA threshold 20.
Start series with the Start Button
Data started failing at 03:54 dump 718, file sizes low.
