| Status | Run 76 beginning. Warming up after LN2 transfer - IVC showed a leak during LN2 blowout. N2 gas in cryostat vacuum jacket. MC and Still heaters are on. |
|---|---|
MC(Cernox) = 222.0 K, warming at 8.9 K/hr. Assuming Troom = 72 F this implies a warming tau of 8.95 hours. That means the time to reach 0 C is 10.7 hours, which would be 7:16 pm tonight.
Start pumping mixture out of fridge and cold LN2 Trap 1 into dump
Close Condenser speedivalve and Still gate valve to isolate fridge
Check contents of warm LN2 Trap 2, then pump out with Scroll Pump: 0.6→4.6→1.7 mbar.
Start cryocleaning mixture through LN2 Cold Trap 2, V6 = 12.4%
| Insert Trap2 into LN2 cylinder and fill the cylinder with LN2 upto brim. Check that He3 pump is ON. Use cryoclean process written note on the wall. | |
Increase V6 → 12.5% to restart flow
Increase V6 → 12.6% to restart flow
Increase V6 → 12.7% to speed up flow
Stop cleaning through Trap 2 after 65 min. G2 flow pressure was 580-760 mbar. Pump mixture to dump. Removed 5.1(3.7) mbar.
MC(Cernox) = 250 K, warming at 3.75 K/hr. Assuming Troom = 72 F this implies a warming tau of 12.1 hours. That means the time to reach 0 C is 8.6 hours, which would be a little after midnight tonight.
Check contents of warm LN2 Trap 1, then pump out with Scroll Pump: 0.1→6.5→1.3 mbar. This trap was used during the LN2 cooldown.
Check pressure in IVC, it's a little low for the current temperature. Let more N2 into IVC to about 0.87 atm. MC(Cernox) reads 253.5 K now so should rise to about 1.01 atm at room temperature.
Check pressure in cryostat vacuum jacket: 25 mbar. (MC(Cernox) = 254 K).
Start pumping out cryostat vacuum jacket: 1) check that cryostat vacuum valve is open 2) plug in scroll pump 3) open scroll pump valve 4) wait till pressure is below 0.1 mbar 5) open turbo pump valve (just above Pfeiffer turbo pump) 6) close scroll pump valve 7) unplug scroll pump. Leave it turbo-pumping overnight
