Previous Day

  • Lab in-personnel: Michael, Matt, Scott, Derek
Status Run 76 prep. All mixture in dump. LHe Trap and LN2 Trap 1 still have contaminants. Cryostat Vacuum Jacket pumped out. Tower removed.
Earlyish, Scott soldered some thin wires to the leads for the piezo in the source mover and routed them out the hole in the housing.
1420 Working on 2D source mover wires. Unloop enough wire from each spool to free up around 30 cm for each wire and tape down to table, labeled.
1435 Figuring out the kind of connector that plugs into the motor controller. Google “26958 connector”. Little white female connector with 4 leads.
1515 Cut off each motor wire at around 32 cm.
1540 Begin making kapton-tape striplines, one for each motor (4 wires each). Tape a 25cm length of kapton to table, sticky side up, and lay wires on it next to each other one by one. Another piece of kapton tape sticky side down to complete the stripline.
1545 Label the striplines “X” and “Y” for corresponding motors (central motor and arm motor). Label one side of stripline “1 1 1 1” to indicate the side Wire 1 is on, Wires 2-4 in sequence.
1610 Tape striplines down against outside edge of source mover housing
1500 Double checked FridgeWireMap.xls labels for accuracy before cutting fridge cables.
1503 Began labeling individual wires in fridge cable with masking tape pieces.
1504 Investigating LabView VI's for controlling switch box we will connect to Lake Shore.
1505 Note: Lake Shore 372 drivers/example VI files located at C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2017\instr.lib\Lake Shore 372\
