| Status | Run 76 prep. All mixture in dump. LHe Trap and LN2 Trap 1 still have contaminants. Cryostat Vacuum Jacket pumped out. Tower removed. |
Receive new lead collimator cup from CSE shop. Smoke-detector Am-241 source still won't fit in it. Took some time filing down some dents in the source housing, got it to fit.
Plug in new LakeShore Model 372 Resistance Bridge. Connect it to computer with USB. Disconnect the sensor cables from the old Model 370 into the new one. Seems to work fine, reading the resistance of the Still thermometer.
Michael downloaded LabVIEW stuff for the new bridge, working on some vis.
PS - Started a LabView Project called OmniLogger2022 located locally on lab pc at /k100/labview/. Drivers and labview vi's for the new hardware are setup in it, and work will begin on a new interface for thermometer display.
Start working on creating Kapton striplines for the wires for the 2D source mover motors. In the existing setup each of the 8 wires coming out of the housing has most of its length wrapped around a spool and held on with electrical tape. The ends are soldered to copper wires leading to two 4-wire connectors labeled “x” and “y”.
As a first step it is necessary to keep track of each wire and label them. We marked both the connectors on the controller and the connectors from the motor wires with marks indicating where Pin1 is. Then each tape-covered spool was labeled x1, x2, …, y3, y4.
De-soldered the motor wires from the copper wires and taped the ends down on a work table in PAN443. The wires had become rather tangled, took some time to untangle them.
