Previous Day

  • Lab in-person: Matt
  • Virtual partner: Zach
Run 74 prep. Tower partially installed. Still investigating last week's electrical checkout fail.
1555 Matt enters the lab
1600 Tower is attached to 30mK can. Do electrical check at tower: looks OK. All five electrodes show continuity, no shorts to chassis.
1610 Plug in SQUETS and accessory wires to do electrical checkout at breakout box.
Confusing results: at first it looked like we were again seeing shorts to chassis on DIB1 qI and qO. But not when only the DIB1 SQUET was plugged in. Shorts showed up with DIB2 SQUET also plugged in - this gave 17 nS. Short was stronger when Side2 electrode was plugged in: 25 nS. Shorts not seen on DIB2 channels. Similar to last Friday, except we hadn't checked what happens when the HV wire was not connected.
But - after unplugging and replugging the Side 2 SQUET, the shorts went away.
1710 Unplug SQUETs and do another electrical check at Tower - all looks good. Well… at any rate, if there is a wiring problem it does not seem to be at tower level, it would have to be SQUETs or interposer or striplines. Let's finish installation.
1800 100mK stage mostly installed
1800 Matt exits lab
