Previous Day

  • Lab in-person: Matt
  • Virtual partner: Zach
Status Run 74 prep. 1K Pot pumped out and isolated. Fridge and 4He and LN2 Trap 1 isolated, not pumped out. Cryostat vacuum jacket pumped out. IVC open, tower removed.
1456 Matt arrives at lab.
1500 Check flowmeters on purge cabinets - they're a bit low but still flowing. Adjust regulator at wall to get them all around 3-4.
1500 Examine interposer board used in Run73
1515 Make a bend in Pin 7 of one of the side coax extenders. This corresponds to the Side2 electrode of USD1 on DIB1.
1515 Check that bent pin will work for rerouting the HV wire.
1525 Find some MillMax pins. We'll use one for the HV wire to plug into the tower. Also these seem to be the right size for the side coax extender, to fix it after this run.
1535 Solder HV wire to bent pin on extender and to MillMax pin.
1535 Check that the HV wire will work. I may want to redo the solder job on the side coax extender because the wire hits the plate on the Tower below the connector.
1545 Examine interposer again, making sure I understand the wiring.
1650 Tower assembly test. Looks like this wiring will basically work.

Notes wiring:

  • Accessory / interposer wiring:
    • basically since we have a room temperature board set up for source mover control and endstops, we want to match that wiring when we set up the accessory wiring at Tower and interposer
    • HV wire could use any of the “spare” wires connected to the interposer, but we can just one of the same ones used for the electrode in Run 73. But we need to set up a bias resistor and test resistor in series for when we connect this to the HV supply.
  • Tower wiring
    • this is T1 - in Run 67 we used iT4, now broken.
    • None of the faces has any known problems for charge lines
    • Faces 1 and 6 have problems with some phonon lines. For the interposer we want 6 consecutive good lines for one connector, and one more for the HV connector. So easiest would be to just avoid Faces 1 and 6 for the accessories.
    • Can use any of the faces for the two DIBs, it seems.
1700 Matt leaves lab
