Previous Day

Setup DIB1/3/4 → 3.2 MHz filters 2/3/1 → cable 3/1/2 → gender changer ?/3/2 → HVConn 1/3/2 → HV 1/2 → DCRCX(4)/DCRC50(3)
DCRC33(2) → 1kV power supply → HV input
0000 Tower = 61.5 mK
0815 Tower/MC/Coldplate = 60.2/31.7/197 mK, Still = 1.25 K / 0.095 mbar, G1/G2 = 161/157 mbar, 1K Pot = 1.63 K / 22 mbar. MB = 35.3%
Tower temperature continues to fall linearly, slowly
0830 Fill LN2 cold trap bath
DIB1/3/4 → SQUET ZC-68, ZC-13, ZC-26
Apply previous SQUID settings. For SQUET ZC-68 try Run 68 values.
Here are some Run 63 SQUID settings for the other two SQUETs
DCRC chan SQUID Bias SQUID Lockpoint SQUET chan
DCRCX(4) pA -85 -3.6 ZC-68 DIB1 pA
DCRCX(4) pB -70 -3.8 ZC-68 DIB1 pB
DCRCX(4) pC -85 -3.7 ZC-68 DIB1 pC
DCRC50(3) pB -82 -75 -4.8 ZC-13 DIB3 pC
DCRC50(3) pC -85 -3.5 ZC-26 DIB4 pC
DCRC50(3) pD -85 -5.7 ZC-26 DIB4 pD
1225 Apply above settings to ODB, apply power to DCRCs 4/3, start DAQ programs. Tower temperature rises slightly, 59.6→60.0 mK
1230 Zap SQUIDs on DCRCs 3,4 using DCRC Control: Tools gui. Still Pressure and Tower Temperature spike, to 63 mK / 0.175 mbar, then fall again
1425 Start pulse viewer. DCRC4 pB is actually showing pulses (QET bias = 400 uA). Others are pulseless.
Adjust DCRC3pB QET bias, see pulses there too.
1508 Begin LHe transfer @ MB = 24.5%
1520 Pulses seen in all 6 channels
1548 End LHe transfer @ MB = 90.9%
1640 Chose some QET settings, generally choosing points in transition above the oscillation region.
1647 Start a background series at HV = 0V
CDMS detector: Driver Gains = 1x, DCRC4/3 QET biases = (480/380/480)/(440/460/500) uA, Front-End Gains = (2/2/3)/(5/5/5)
1000 BOR randoms, trigger on DCRC4pA/B/C threshold = 6/6/6
1650 Tower = 59.0 mK
note: as with last run we suspect that the slow cooling is because the aluminum electrode takes a long time to cool to base. That means the electrode is probably warmer than the tower thermometer. But the detector is probably close to the tower thermometer temperature because in earlier runs with this detector it cooled quickly so probably has a good thermal connection.
1655 Stop data. Let's adjust offsets, then start a series.
1700 Start a sequence of 9 20-minute background series at HV = 0V
CDMS detector: Driver Gains = 1x, DCRC4/3 QET biases = (480/380/480)/(440/460/500) uA, Front-End Gains = (2/2/3)/(5/5/5)
1000 BOR randoms, trigger on DCRC4pA/B/C threshold = 6/6/6
use SimpleDataLoopNoFlash.msl
1740 Fill LN2 cold trap bath
1745 MB = 90.3%
