Previous Day

Status: Warming up from 77K because leak from bath to IVC discovered. Nitrogen in cryostat vacuum jacket. Mixture cleaned several times.
0620 MC(Cernox) = 216.3 K
0820 MC(Cernox) = 226.8 K
0920 MC(Cernox) = 231.1 K
0940 Start pumping out IVC. We'll repeat yesterday's leak tests.
0945 MC(Cernox) = 232.5 K, Sorb = >249.9 K (max), Cryostat outer surface = 21.8 C
0950 Check pressure in warm LN2 Trap 1: 14.7 mbar. Pump out with scroll pump.
1105 Start pumping IVC with leak detector. Background around 1000 pbarL/s.
1110 Raise LN2 transfer tube 1 inch and squirt a blast of He down the tube. Leak around 970 pbarL/s, no increase.
1115 Push LN2 transfer tube all the way down and squirt a blast of He down the tube. Leak around 960 pbarL/s, no increase.
1124 Electrical check at 230 K. As yesterday, all channels look good and stable, but the cross-channel resistances don't follow the expected pattern.
1135 Let about 0.76 bar N2 gas into IVC
1150 Start cryocleaning mixture through cold LN2 Trap 2, V6 = 12.4%
1200 Increase V6 → 12.9% to restart flow
1205 MC(Cernox) = 235.8 K, Cryostat outer surface = 22.0 C
1205 Increase V6 → 13.0% to speed up flow
1300 Stop cryocleaning, 70 minutes through Trap 2. Pump to dump.
1435 Start cryocleaning mixture through cold LN2 Trap 1, V6 = 12.9%
1440 MC(Cernox) = 245.2 K, Cryostat outer surface = 21.8 C
1445 Increase V6 → 13.1% to restart and speed up flow
1520 MC(Cernox) = 247.2 K, Cryostat outer surface = 21.8 C
1525 Increase V6 → 13.5% to speed up flow
1550 Stop cryocleaning, 75 minutes through Trap 1. Pump to dump.
1640 MC(Cernox) = 251.2 K, Cryostat outer surface = 22.0 C
1640 Check pressure in warm LN2 Trap 2: 4.2 mbar. Pump out with scroll pump.
1744 Begin to pump out vacuum jacket with scroll pump. MC(Cernox) = 254.1 K
1758 Switch to turbo pump on vacuum jacket. MC(Cernox) = 254.6 K
