2017/11/27 (Monday)

Previous Day

Setup: DIB1/3/4 → SL 27/19/20 → 3.2 MHz filters → cables 2,1,3 → HV board inputs 1,3,2 → HV board outputs 1,2 → DCRC55(1)/50(3). Also DCRC4 is powered and hooked up to control the HV setting.
1002 Tower/MC/Coldplate = 24.0/26.4/161 mK, Still = 1.4 K / 0.110 mbar, G1/G2 = 258/243 mbar, 1K Pot = 1.65 K / 34 mbar, MB = 69.4%
1010 Fill LN2 cold trap full.
Most recent IbIs curves at 0V with front-end gains = 10
1056 Let's try to set the HV bias with DCRC4 and take some biased IbIs data.
1057 Turn off DCRC programs and restart MIDAS. Enable DCRC4 in ODB. Make sure it is set as a timing slave and has DCRC4/Charge/Bias (V)[0] = 10.801 as well as DCRC4/Charge/Bias (V)[1] = 0. Start DCRC programs.
1059 Turn on the power supply by setting DCRC4/Charge/Bias (V)[1] = 2. Nothing happens. Programs have crashed and am unable to reach DCRC4 via telnet.
1102 Power cycle DCRC4, restart programs. Looks good now. Turn on the power supply by setting DCRC4/Charge/Bias (V)[1] = 2. Power supply starts up at HV ~ -0.2 V.
1105 Let's prebias for 5 min. Slowly ramp up to 52 V at 1V/sec by changing DCRC4/Charge/Bias (V)[0] by 0.1 V/sec by hand in the ODB. HV/DCRC4QI = 52.54/5.2 V
1110 Leakage voltage peaks at around 10 mV and starts falling.
1115 Slowly ramp down to 45 V at 1V/sec by changing DCRC4/Charge/Bias (V)[0] by 0.1 V/sec by hand in the ODB. HV/DCRC4QI = 45.07/5.99 V
1117 Begin IbIs data sequence on DCRC1pA with HV=45V from 650 to 300 uA in -1.0 uA steps, 3 seconds of data per step. (IbIsDCRC1pA.msl)
1140 HV = 44.99, V_leak = 2.28 mV
1228 Sequence completed, HV = 44.95, V_leak = 1.92 mV
1230 Slowly ramp down to 0 V at 1V/sec by changing DCRC4/Charge/Bias (V)[0] by 0.1 V/sec by hand in the ODB, then turning off the power supply by setting DCRC4/Charge/Bias (V)[1] = 0
1237 Flash DCRCs 1,3 for 30s using flashandflash GUI. Tower temp peaks at 530 mK.
1315 Tower temp = 24.9 mK
1316 In preparation for installing NaI detectors and south shield wall, we'll need to move the turbo pump and leak checker. Turbo pump is currently on but not pumping on the IVC. Isolate IVC using 2 valves at top of fridge. Turn off the turbo pump, let it spin down.
1401 Remove turbo pump and leak detector.
1504 Install south shield frame with NaI detectors. Install north shield frame.
1600 Install south lead shielding and north poly shielding.
1620 Fill LN2 cold trap full.
1627 Restart MIDAS.
1628 Turn on the power supply by setting DCRC4/Charge/Bias (V)[0] = 10.76, DCRC4/Charge/Bias (V)[1] = 2. Power supply starts up at HV = 0.11 V.
1630 Let's prebias for 5 min. Slowly ramp up to 52 V at 1V/sec by changing DCRC4/Charge/Bias (V)[0] by 0.1 V/sec by hand in the ODB. HV/DCRC4QI = 52.52/5.2 V
1636 Slowly ramp down to 45 V at 1V/sec by changing DCRC4/Charge/Bias (V)[0] by 0.1 V/sec by hand in the ODB. HV/DCRC4QI = 45.02/5.99 V
1639 Begin IbIs data sequence on DCRC1pB with HV=45V from 600 to 300 uA in -1.0 uA steps, 3 seconds of data per step. (IbIsDCRC1pB.msl)
note: looks like DCRC1pB and other channels were railed during this sequence. Will need to redo it.
1650 HV = 44.99, V_leak = 2.11 mV, tower = 23.4 mK
1935 Looks like the sequence finished. Ramp down the bias and turn off the power supply remotely. Unfortunately, the lights are off in the lab, so the webcam can't see the bias voltage. It can see the leakage, which responds as expected to bias changes.
1950 Flash for 30s using flashandflash gui.
