2017/09/15 (Friday)

Previous Day

1000 Swap DIB3/4 SQUETs. Now DIB3 is ZC-26, DIB4 is ZC-37
1055 Finish electrical checks on DIBs 3 and 4. Both look OK.
1215 Finish the 4K stage, prepare the indium seal and sealed the IVC. Took down the clean room. Checked screw tightness of other indium seals, seemed fine.
1220 Begin pumping slowly on IVC with scroll pump. Pressure = 0.74 bar.
1233 Open scroll pump valve completely.
1240 Scroll pump (IVC) = 0.16 mbar
1247 Tighten screws on all four IVC indium seals.
1330 Scroll pump (IVC) = 63 μbar. Begin pumping IVC with turbo pump.
1400 Turbo pump (IVC) = 1.2 μbar. Valve out pump for a few minutes: IVC > 73 μbar
1430 Turbo pump = 0.63 μbar, IVC = 100 μbar
1440 Start pumping IVC with leak detector (valve out turbo pump). Settling at about 10 pbarL/s
1445 LD = 7.6 pbarL/s
1455 Squirt-test around all IVC joints. No leaks - including the top of the stripline tube! So we've fixed that. LD signal rose no higher than 9 pbarL/s.
go back to pumping IVC with turbo pump
1630 Turbo pump = 0.46 μbar, IVC = 54 μbar

On Monday:

  • do a room temperature throughput test with LD on IVC (to make sure we haven't sprung a leak on the MC like in Run 60)
  • need to fill LN Dewar, then proceed with cooldown
