Previous Day

Setup: DIB1/3/4 → 3.2 MHz filters 3/1/2 → cable 3/1/2 →gender changer 3/1/2 → HVConn 1/3/2 → HV 1/2 → DCRC55/DCRC33
0835 Tower/MC/Coldplate = 33.0/29.5/190 mK, Still = 1.2 K / 0.110 mbar, G1/G2 = 220/205 mbar, 1K Pot = 1.665 K / 20.0 mbar. Main Bath = 71.8%
0835 HV = 30.26 V, Vtest = 1.48 mV → Vdetector = 29.7 V
0850 Check the falloff currents in all channels. All are within 0.1 or 0.2 uA of the standard values (May 24 table) except DCRC2pD/Side1pF, which is 0.4 uA higher, implying lower Pparasitic than average
0855 Dial HV down to zero, short HV leads
0900 Fill LN2 cold trap bath.
0905 Begin 30 minute detector bake using DCRCs 1&2
1057 Set up to take noise data on DIB2. Remove HV board.
1106 Setup: DIB3 → 3.2 MHz filters 1 → cable 1 →gender changer 1 → DCRC55 We need to tune DIB3 PD's SQUIDs, and DCRC55 has working test signals.
1117 Zap DIB3 SQUIDS
1125 Set DCRC1(55) as timing master. Apply DIB3 PA-PC SQUID settings from Feb 8. to DCRC1(55)
1131 Am able to see pulses easily on PB,PC. PA seemed to be open in the past. PD is the deliberately open channel which we haven't looked at yet. Let's tune it's SQUID.
1145 Choose SQUID bias of -63.6 uA for DIB3 pD. Nominal lockpoint is -1.4 mV, but we'll run through a range from -2.0 mV to -0.5 mV
1148 We'll want to know the SQUID responsivity (modulation curve slope) at each of the lockpoints chosen. The easiest way I can think to get that is to save some traces at each setting and calculate it offline.
1150 Write a few seconds of DIB3PD modulation curve data with Test signal = 50 mVpp/100 Hz, SQUID bias/lockpoint = -63.6 uA/-0.5 mV, FE/Driver Gain = 15/1
1153 Write a few seconds of DIB3PD modulation curve data with Test signal = 50 mVpp/100 Hz, SQUID bias/lockpoint = -63.6 uA/-1.0 mV, FE/Driver Gain = 15/1
1154 Write a few seconds of DIB3PD modulation curve data with Test signal = 50 mVpp/100 Hz, SQUID bias/lockpoint = -63.6 uA/-1.5 mV, FE/Driver Gain = 15/1
1155 Write a few seconds of DIB3PD modulation curve data with Test signal = 50 mVpp/100 Hz, SQUID bias/lockpoint = -63.6 uA/-2.0 mV, FE/Driver Gain = 15/1
1156 Write a few seconds of DIB3PD modulation curve data with Test signal = 50 mVpp/100 Hz, SQUID bias/lockpoint = -63.6 uA/-1.4 mV, FE/Driver Gain = 15/1
Plan: Get data with PA/PD lockpoints = -0.5, -1, nominal, -1.5, -2 and with PB/PC = sc, norm, trans. But these two things can overlap.
1214 Start 30 min 0V long trace random data set with 26.2144ms trace length, Frontend Gain = 15, OG = 4, PA/PD lockpoint = -0.5/-0.5 mV, PB/PC QET bias = 0/0 = SC/SC ,20Hz in-run randoms with no starting/ending randoms.
1232 Abort run Saved raw data in this 1DCRC mode is crashing Batviewer. Unsure what's wrong.
1240 Power up DCRC2 with miniBOB attached and attach timing link cable. Set DCRC2 as master and DCRC1 as slave in ODB. This seems to work, saved data is readable again! Let's re-take the above data to be sure we've got it.
Let's also get PA's mod curve since we'll be using a variety of lockpoints.
1256 Write a few seconds of DIB3PD modulation curve data with Test signal = 50 mVpp/100 Hz, PA/PD SQUID bias = -54/-63.6 uA, PA/PD lockpoint = -0.8/-0.3 mV, FE/Driver Gain = 15/1, PA/PD = pre-amp,open loop
1257 Write a few seconds of DIB3PD modulation curve data with Test signal = 50 mVpp/100 Hz, PA/PD SQUID bias = -54/-63.6 uA, PA/PD lockpoint = -1.2/-0.7 mV, FE/Driver Gain = 15/1, PA/PD = pre-amp,open loop
1258 Write a few seconds of DIB3PD modulation curve data with Test signal = 50 mVpp/100 Hz, PA/PD SQUID bias = -54/-63.6 uA, PA/PD lockpoint = -1.8/-1.4 mV, FE/Driver Gain = 15/1, PA/PD = pre-amp,open loop
1259 Write a few seconds of DIB3PD modulation curve data with Test signal = 50 mVpp/100 Hz, PA/PD SQUID bias = -54/-63.6 uA, PA/PD lockpoint = -2.0/-1.7 mV, FE/Driver Gain = 15/1, PA/PD = pre-amp,open loop

Revised Plan: Get data with PA/PD lockpoints = settings just measured and PB/PC = sc, norm, trans. But these two things can overlap.
1305 Start 30 min 0V long trace random data set with 26.2144ms trace length, Frontend Gain = 15, OG = 4, PA/PD SQUID bias = -54/-63.6 uA, PA/PD lockpoint = -0.8/-0.3 mV, PB/PC QET bias = 0/0 = SC/SC ,20Hz in-run randoms with no starting/ending randoms.
1333 Tower = 33.3 mK
1351 Start 30 min 0V long trace random data set with 26.2144ms trace length, Frontend Gain = 15, OG = 4, PA/PD SQUID bias = -54/-63.6 uA, PA/PD lockpoint = -1.2/-0.7 mV, PB/PC QET bias = 300/300 = Norm/Norm, 20Hz in-run randoms with no starting/ending randoms.

1618 PD railed after a few minutes in this last dataset, but there should be enough to work with there.
1627 Playing with FEG and looking at PSD on pulse viewer. It looks like PSD shape is invariant to FEG for FEG > 10 or so. Below this, there starts to be structure around 100kHz that changes with FEG.
1630 Remove Na-22 source from safe and place near HPGe detector
1631 Start 30 min 0V long trace random data set with 26.2144ms trace length, Frontend Gain = 10, OG = 4, PA/PD SQUID bias = -54/-63.6 uA, PA/PD lockpoint = -2.4/-2.0 mV, PB/PC QET bias = 120/120 = Trans/Trans, 20Hz in-run randoms with no starting/ending randoms.

Fill cold trap full.
1709 Take out Ba-133 source from the safe and place near HPGe detector for HPGe resolution studies.
