2016/10/06 (Thursday)

Previous Day

Status: entire IVC and 100mK can removed. All mixture in dump. MB vacuum jacket has been pumped out.
0835 Remove Cf source from on top of G101c in clean room and return source to safe
1045 Remove G101c from purge. Take photos of bonded channel splits on Side 2 and Side 1
Side 1

1055 Put G101c in bag to move to bonding room
1115 Remove G101c from bag in bonding room. Exposed to unclean environment for 30 minutes.
1130 Repair wirebond on DIB1 Side 1 pA. Initial resistance checks look OK. Took a few tries to bond to tungsten pad on detector, had to increase power
Wirebonder settings: Bond 1/2 Power = 480/485, Bond Times = 40/30, loop height = 50 mils, drop before clamp = 26 mils
1220 Remove PTF tape and dental floss holding thermometer around spool. Take off spool to reveal mixing chamber screws. Tighten mixing chamber screws, which do seem to have gotten slightly looser.
1234 Add IR LED chips to source holder with plate in top position. There should still be room to fit the tower thermometer in the center.
1239 Clean spool and reattach spool to bottom of mixing chamber.
1330 Remove G101c from bag in bonding room. Exposed to unclean environment for 60 minutes.
1420 Rewire DIB4 Side 2.
1435 Rewire DIB4 Side 1.

New DIB4 wirebonding scheme:

DIB4 Side 2 pA not connected, pB-TES8, TES8-TES7, TES7-TES6
DIB4 Side 1 pC-TES1, pD-TES0

Now it is wired in such a way that we can use the HV board without using rerouting boards.

1455 Return G101c to clean room

notice DIB1 side 1 pin 2 bond broken again, crud.

Resistance checks:

  • DIB1
    • DIB1 pA is open, as thought
    • interchannel resistances are between 80-130 Ω
  • DIB3
    • same as before

1530 Put G101c back in purge

1700 Remove spool because we put it on too soon.
1745 Place Cf source inside purge cabinet for overnight activation of G101c.
1750 Finish tightening screws on upper (copper) IVC can.
