Previous Day

0845 Confirm at e-box that DIB1pB SQUID bias-return is open. The other three show continuity at around 4 kΩ.
0935 Remove bottom of IVC. After doing this, DIB1pB SQUID showed continuity again - but now DIB1pA SQUID is open! Pushing on the DIB1 stripline a little causes DIB1pB SQUID to lose continuity. Manipulating the stripline does not seem to get DIB1pA SQUID to come back.
1350 Checking DIB1 connections to SQUIDs A and B:
SQUID B return wire seems to have a bad connection in the stripline. Moving the stripline around makes it appear and disappear. This will have to be re-routed.
The SQUID A problem is not in the stripline. This SQUID is reading open at the SQUET pins. Maybe it's a problem in the flyover cable. We will remove it from the tower and measure it on the bench.
1430 Double bag SQUET ZC-23 and bring into clean room. Remove diverter board from 50-pin connector of SQUET. Perform electrical check on SQUID lines using the pin out diagram below:
SQUET PinOut Diagram
1450 On SQUET ZC-23, connections between SQUID Bias and SQUID Return are present and show typical values ~5kΩ, except on pA. All four phonon channels have connections between Feedback Coil and Feecback return with typical values of ~18kΩ.
1455 Attempt manipulating SQUID and SQUID cable while measuring pA SQUID Bias and SQUID Return pins. No possible wiggling could close the connection. A visual inspection of the SQUID and its cable revealed no obvious breaks.

Plan for rerouting Stripline 19: Bad wire = SQUID B return. Reroute with good spare wire = QET D Return #4

  1. for SQUET-end rerouting card:
    1. add jumper from Pin 39 (SQUID B return) to Pin 46 (QET D Return #4)
    2. break off Socket 46
  2. for D50-end rerouting card:
    1. jump Pin 40 (QET D Return #4) on the male side (stripline side) to Pin 50 (SQUID B return) on the female side (ebox side)
    2. open switches (to break connections) corresponding to Pin 40 and Pin 50
