Agenda
- Operations:
- Run 61 (HV#2) status
- More HV data taken
- positive bias only, up to 100V with 115V pre-bias
- can claim that “breakdown” is greater than +100V
- there was some pulse distortion in some channels at high biases, but it went away with SQUID zapping. Good 100V data.
- Oscillation study at higher base temperature finished, results sent to Noah. (interesting plot)
- Noise data with different prebiasing schemes finished, copying this to the SLAC backup for Bill
- More coincidence data taken, DAQ upgrade work
- Finishing the run
- Let bath run out today, begin warmup
- Don't know yet when the Si HV is due (it would be nice if they sent me shipping info)
- Next run, Run 62: HV#4
- wirebonding to access all channels won't match our HV wiring, will need to prepare rerouting boards
- calibration still a question
- Matt P may be able to send “bare” Am source - may be expensive to ship and/or take a while to work out
- alternatively can dismantle a smoke detector (questionable). Some web-surfing suggests activities around 1-2 μCi, comparable to our Am sources
- last resort is one of our Am sources, for 60 keV line, no lower energies available
- Processing and Analysis
- Run 60, 6“ detector, analysis
- Geant sims
- Measuring capacitance
- Old items
- need to get back to work on NSOF, should test whether resolution is improved with new filtering
- Then work on reprocessing old data
- Physics
- Measuring low-energy comptons with 88Y, triggering with external detectors
- Low-energy NR peaks from neutron capture in Ge, external trigger
- DAQ and data pipe
- DAQ upgrade - progress
- Old/continuing items:
- Data storage and backup:
- Need to copy Run 60 data to SLAC
- Need to clean up vuk1/vuk2 before they are retired. Need to ask Angie again when she will finish copying data
- Autoprocessing and data organization development:
- should work on implementing smart processing so that data with different configurations can be processed automatically
- should add more info to database, particularly for potential outside manpower
