- Lab Update
- Source mover tests: We have seen that the coil resistance doesn't increase like it used to, with as many as 256 consecutive steps (the most we could do reliable in Run71 was 4).
- Tried to move it till it hit an endstop - but we never saw the endstop-to-chassis connection. But I think that's a wiring problem - I confirmed that we were hitting the endstop by doing move sequences and watching the temperature. The temperature spikes decrease in amplitude when the source carriage is stopped by the endstop.
- In Run71 we could only move 1 mm/hour. In this run I've moved it as fast as 12.6 mm/hour for as far as 18 mm. But at that rate the fridge doesn't seem to be able to keep up - it gets warmer with every step, and the circulation pressure keeps increasing. Same at 9.5 mm/hour. We can move it at 5.3 mm/hour and maintain fridge stability.
- Other news: the replacement Si HV detector has arrived
