So far, we have been using RevC board for our daq. We had identified a trigger duplication issue during Run79 which led us to upgrade the DAQ. New daq system makes use of RevE DCRC board (more info about revE board: link). New DCRC board can be used along with new MIDASDaq software that lets us configure L1Trigger and also has various MIDASTools to automate detector operations such as SQUID tuning, IbIs measurements.
There are 3 strip lines that come out of the fridge that carry detector channels (TES and SQUID lines). Each stripline has 50-pin DSUB connector and the DCRC RevE is a 100 pin connector connector board. We have an IO adaptor board that re-routes the lines from 3-striplines to the RevE board.
New DAQ software has been installed on cdms3 server. Relevant links and instructions are as follows:
- Instructions to run DAQ on cdms3 (rockyLinux) : https://zzz.physics.umn.edu/!cdms/cdms/k100/procedure/cdms3_reve_midaq_daq_instructions
- Note that ODB has been setup in iZIP mode, i.e. one DCRC can read all 12 phonon channels. The stripline cables will need to connected to the HV box in order to apply bias voltage. In that case connections should be as follows: CABLE –> HV-box –> IO board –> DCRCrevE.
- Channel mapping and connections (without HVbox in between): dcrc_pinout.xlsx
- More info about the IO board: (see connection map from 100pin to 50pin) https://zzz.physics.umn.edu/!cdms/cdms/100pin_50pin_reve_connector
NOTE:
- As of November 10, 2025, PulseViewer has a bug: when you start the PulseViewer, it says FrontEnd stopped even though the front_end driver is running.
- As of November 10, 2025, connections from HV board is not well understood. We tried connecting stripline cables to HV input box, then connected output of HV box (both left and right) directly to the big breakout box, and tried probing detector lines (e.g. SQ to SQ_RTN, and SQ_FB to SQ_FB_RTN) but the it all says open. However, if you directly connect the stripline cable to the breakout box then you do see non-open values. We suspect that there is a misunderstanding about the channel routing within the HV box.
