Muon Telescope Data

Experimental Set Up

Earlier, the energy loss of a muon passing through the old scintillator samples was determined to be 5.6 MeV. The width of all new (DMR-__) plastic scintillators was measured to be 2.5 cm. As a result, the energy deposited by a muon passing through the scintillator should be 6.67 MeV.

The reduction code and Root graphing program were used to analyze the data files. The first 50 bins were used to determine a baseline which was subtracted from the rest of the data. The pulse was integrated from bins 50 to 190 to get a pulse area.
