Previous Day

  • Lab in-personnel: Himangshu
Status Warmup in progress. Added exchange gas on Saturday. Fridge at 273.59 K
1333 Added two tubelength of He to CVJ since we are not yet at dew point
Current warming rate: 0.6 K/hr
1412 In order to drop the Main Bath, we need to be at dew point to make sure we donot attract moisture to the electronics. Discussed with Matt and found that since the thermometer is at MC, things might be warmer near the IVC stage. To check that, insert the LN2 rod into the port on top of the fridge and keep it there for 2 minutes. Take the rod out and see how cold it gets. We observed that the rod was cold but it didn't attact moisture and we can hold on the cold part easily. This would mean that we are definitely above freezing so that we won't get frost for sure (which is even worst) .

1610 Start removing screws to lower main bath. Loosen medium screws at bottom, two large screws at top, then remove all small screws at top. The shortened 5/16 Allen key that's necessary to remove two screws that are located under fridge insert brackets is kept in the plastic box with the Dewar screws.
1640 Completely removed main bath screws and lowered main bath
1641 Observed a little bit of moist surface on the IVC. Can put finger impressions, but not very cold to touch. MC(Cernox) = 277 K and warming faster now.
