Previous Day

  • Lab in-personnel: Matt, Himangshu, Megan
Status Run 76 finished
Setup DCRC33(2)→HV control, NaI trigger signal → DCRCX(4)
IVC closed and Turbo pumping for a while. No tower - this was just for a leak test.
1335 Electrical check all Phonon- and LED-related components on SQUET ZC-74. This is the one with the bad middle layer on the FET card and lots of jumper-wire repairs. All components look fine, at the moment.
1430 Go into cleanroom to examine the 2D Source Mover
1450 Take video tilting the 2D Source Mover, to see whether it moves when we tilt it. With a somewhat small tilt the mover rotates around the center axis (“X” motor) readily. But the angle produced by the second axis (“Y” motor) stays fixed.
1455 Confirm that we inadvertently left tape off the collimator, so that in Run76 we had alphas (and maybe low energy electrons) hitting the detector. Put a piece of Kapton tape over the collimator hole to block these next time.
1715 Do some MIDAS DAQ tests. As it turns out, the sequencer is working - we were able to run a sequence that starts and stops a series. But the SQUID control buttons on the pulse viewer are still not responding. Also tried using tools, e.g. ZAP tool - this did not work.
