Previous Day

  • Lab in-personnel: Zach, Matt
Status Run 76 in progress
Setup Cables 2/3/1 → diverter/nothing/nothing → Side2-readout HV CONN 1/3/2 → HV 1(L)/2(R) → DCRC50(3)/DCRC55(1), DCRC33(2)→HV control, NaI trigger signal → DCRCX(4)
Lead/poly shield fully assembled. Boron-filled socks covering NaI detectors.
PuBe behind lead wall on West side of lead/poly shield.
NaI trigger window: 7.6-11.2 MeV
Cooled to base 3 days ago after fourth 5K pumpout.
1300 MC/Coldplate = 30.2/150 mK, Still = 1.14 K / 0.110 mbar / 0 mW, G1/G2 = 150/137 mbar, 1K Pot = 45° / 1.60 K / 15±1 mbar, MB = 66.7 %
1305 Fill LN2 cold trap bath
1320 MC base = 30.2 mK with spikes mostly peaking below 45 mK but some over 100 mK
1325 As was the case last night, no channels are showing any pulses. Some baselines very elevated, others way off, maybe lost lock.
Let's warm up and pump out again.
1325 Close V6 to stop circulation.
1335 V6 is now fully closed (light is off on IGH, Still pressure is rising, Condenser pressure falling).
Turn off 3He pump
1335 Close 1K Pot needle valve
1340 Open V3 to let mixture from Condenser side into Still side.
1345 MC = 0.49 K
1345 Turn on Still and MC heaters to 20 mW each
1350 Turn off DAQ programs and unplug DCRCs 1&3
1355 Close 1K Pot speedivalve, V4a, 4He pump inlet valve. Turn off 4He pump. Close recovery valve to 4He pump outlet.
NOTE: remember to open recovery valve when the pump is turned back on.
1423 G1(fridge) = 550 mbar. Open V9 to release mixture into dump
1423 MC/1KPot/sorb = 3.6/3.45/4.3
1502 MC/1KPot = 3.43/4.34
1515 MC temp starting rising more quickly, seems to have gotten out of the “mode” that it was in when we opened V9
1537 MC/1KPot = 5.56/4.35. Temperatures are relatively flat now.
1540 Check pressure in IVC: 0.10 ubar. Start pumping out IVC with turbo pump
1545 MC temperature rising. (1K Pot still flattish at 4.35 K, not sure why)
1739 MC/1KPot = 10.0/>7 K. Turn off MC and Still heaters
