Previous Day

  • Lab in-personnel: Matt, Giulia
Status Run 76 in progress
Setup Cables 2/3/1 → diverter/nothing/nothing → Side2-readout HV CONN 1/3/2 → HV 1(L)/2(R) → DCRC50(3)/DCRC55(1), DCRC33(2)→HV control, NaI trigger signal → DCRCX(4)
Lead/poly shield fully assembled. Boron-filled socks covering NaI detectors.
PuBe behind lead wall on West side of lead/poly shield.
NaI trigger window: 7.6-11.2 MeV
Third day at base after third 5K pumpout.
Taking -85V NaI-triggered data overnight. But most of it is no good.
0820 HV = -92.9 V, Vtest = -21.7 mV, Ileak = -23.9 uA, Vdet = -83.3 V (90%).
0820 Take a look at phonon channels - no pulses, probably helium film has driven them normal.
0825 Dial HV down to 0V
1030 Look at DCRC1pD, IbIs suggests it's stuck in the normal state.
1035 Close V6 to stop circulation.
1100 Turn off 3He pump
1150 MC/Coldplate/Still = 0.58/0.79/1.79 K, G1/G2 = 20/21 mbar and flattish.
1155 Open V3 to connect Condenser and Still volumes. No change in pressure, looks like they had equalized.
1155 Turn on Still and MC heaters to 20 mW each
1300 Close 1K Pot needle valve
1335 MC = 2.5 K, G1(fridge) = 110 mbar
1335 Close 1K Pot speedivalve, V4a, 4He pump inlet valve. Turn off 4He pump. Close recovery valve to 4He pump outlet.
NOTE: remember to open recovery valve when the pump is turned back on.
1340 Fill LN2 cold trap bath.
1430 MC/1KPot = 3.8/4.4 K, G1(Fridge)= 830 mbar
1430 Open V9 to release mixture pressure into Dump. Cooling effect on MC.
1525 MC/1KPot/Sorb = 5.93/5.91/7.4 K. Temperatures look pretty flat, probably because the helium in the IVC is anchoring them to the bath.
1545 Check pressure in IVC: 0.10 ubar. Start pumping out IVC with Scroll pump
MC and 1K Pot temperatures start rising
1800 MC/1KPot/Sorb = 11.5/>7/11.7 K
1800 Turn off MC and Still heaters
