Previous Day

  • Lab in-personnel: Matt, Giulia
Status Run 76 in progress
Setup Cables 2/3/1 → diverter/nothing/nothing → Side2-readout HV CONN 1/3/2 → HV 1(L)/2(R) → DCRC50(3)/DCRC55(1), DCRC33(2)→HV control, NaI trigger signal → DCRCX(4)
1130 MC/Coldplate = 28.2/146 mK, Still = 1.09 K / 0.100 mbar / 0 mW, G1/G2 = 142/139 mbar, 1K Pot = 45° / 1.55 K / 8.5±0.5 mbar, MB = 75.2%
1136 Fill LN2 cold trap bath.
1300 Build a platform with 2-by-4s to put the PuBe paraffin-drilled drum on top of. This elevates the drum by 12 cm.
1415 Download calibration data for new LakeShore thermometer U09212. The calibration files are here: thermometer
Measure room-temperature resistance with Fluke multimeter: 1.018 kΩ
1505 Bring PuBe source (in paraffin drum) into K100 lab (PAN43). Place drum on wood platform behind lead wall. Run some NaI trigger scans.
1510 Check phonon channels. Things look a little weird…
Zap SQUIDs on DCRCs 1&3
1525 Phonons still look ugly.
Zap SQUIDs on DCRCs 1&3 again.
I think at some point in here we removed the wood platform and put the paraffin drum on the floor. So the data below was taken with the PuBe 12cm lower than standard.
1535 Phonon traces still look ugly, no pulses, DCRC3 shows weird noise. Fiddle a little with cable and DCRC connections to HV box - noise goes away, phonons look fine!
1539 Start 0 V PuBe data series 24 min long, with 1000 initial randoms, 5 Hz in-run randoms, trigger on DCRC3pD threshold 10.
Start series with the Start Button.
Note: PuBe source was only present until 15:50, that would be Dumps 1-11 ish. (Looking at data file sizes, they're above 90M for Dumps 1-13, then fall to around 50M.)
1550 Remove PuBe source from K100 lab, put back in howitzer in S434
We'll take more data now without the PuBe, for comparison.
1606 Start 0 V background data series 24 min long, with 1000 initial randoms, 5 Hz in-run randoms, trigger on DCRC3pD threshold 10.
Start series with the Start Button.
