Previous Day

  • Lab in-personnel: Matt
Status Run 76 in progress
Setup Cables 2/3/1 → diverter/nothing/nothing → Side2-readout HV CONN 1/3/2 → HV 1(L)/2(R) → DCRC50(3)/DCRC55(1), DCRC33(2)→HV control, NaI trigger signal → DCRCX(4)
1040 Phonon channels look weird, so zap SQUIDs on DCRCs 1&3
After ZAP MC cools back to base but then rises again, from 28.4 to 29.2 mK
1055 Phonon channels still look weird, no pulses, DCRC3 channels have funny noise
1055 Stop DAQ programs, power down DCRCs 1&3. MC temperature falls.
1140 MC/Coldplate = 26.5/137 mK, Still = 1.03 K / 0.095 mbar / 0 mW, G1/G2 = 98/115 mbar, 1K Pot = 18° / 1.56 K / 9±1 mbar, MB =74.5%
MC, Coldplate, Still all significantly cooler with DCRCs off
1140 Goldman = 55.0 mK @ 632 uV excitation
1145 Fill LN2 cold trap bath
1215 MC = 26.2 mK. Repower DCRC1&3, restart DAQ programs
1220 Zap DCRC1&3 SQUIDs
1430 Pulses look good. Most channels are back to near their old baselines, except on DCRC3pA I had to readjust the offset.
To better understand the calibration I've been comparing 0V data to HV data. Let's take more 0V data in the current setup.
1432 Start 0 V data series 63 min long, with 1000 initial randoms, 5 Hz in-run randoms, trigger on DCRC3pD threshold 10.
Start series with the Start Button.
1600 Phonon channels in DCRC3 look screwy. Zap DCRC1&3 SQUIDs again.
1610 OK, pulses look OK again.
1620 As with the last zap the MC temperature peaked at 29.2 mK, then started cooling again.

Something wrong with this data. Gain starts to fall off after 10 minutes, low amplitude noise shows up, trigger rate falls to nothing after 30 minutes or so.

This corresponds with the baselines all rising…
