Previous Day

  • Lab in-personnel: Matt, Giulia, Nikki, Shubham
Status Run 75 in progress
Setup Tower Faces 5/3/2 → Cables 2/1/3 → nothing/diverter_board+extra_board/nothing → Side2-readout HVboard CONN1/2/3 → HV1/2 → DCRC55(1)/50(3)
Lead shield in place. Am Source y = 30.03 mm
Testing Side2-readout HV board
0900 Goldman = 38.4 mK and stable.
0900 Set all QET biases based on yesterday's mini-IbIs and looked at pulses. DCRC1pA pulses looked weak so re-did IbIs: got QETbias = 212.8 (for dP/dI=1uV). This is much lower than yesterday's 244.7 uA, and reduces the tension with previous IbIs results that made it look like the DCRCs are swapped. I noted this morning that the tension is only apparent in two channels: cable1pA and cable3pA. It still looks like it might make more sense if these were swapped.
1000 Adjust driver offsets so baselines ~ -0.9 V
1010 Ramp HV up to 113.0V using RootSequencer. This is prebias
1016 After 5 minutes ramp HV down to 98.36 V
1018 Start 98.36 V data series after 5 min 15% prebias, 40 min long, with 1000 initial randoms, no in-run randoms, trigger on DCRC3pA threshold 20.
Start series with the Start Button.
1100 After stopping series dial HV down to 0.0 V using RootSequencer
1150 Double-click Arduino Bridge link on desktop. Establish contact with Arduino, remotely. Temperature spike as usual.
1154 Do mvNwait +4steps×455 times, 40 second wait, with dwell = 40 and power = 6.8 V. (Around 5.93 mm/hour)
This sequence will take 5hr3min20sec and will move the source a total distance of 30.00 mm ending at y = 0.03 mm. Should end at 4:57 pm.
Tower temperature averages around 0.52 K with familiar oscillations.
1225 Goldman/Tower/MC(H35)/Coldplate = 520/1820/187/243 mK, Still = 1.32 K / 0.130 mbar / 0 mW, G1/G2= 298/282 mbar, 1K Pot = 1.58 K / 10±1 mbar, MB = 70.7%
These are of course very different from normal because we're using the source mover.
1411 Fill LN2 cold trap bath.
1755 Turn on DCRC1 LEDs with rep rate reduced from 5000 to 500. Turn off LEDs after 3 minutes. Goldman peaked at 1.24 K.

Analysis observations for today's data:

  • It's harder to distinguish the 14 keV peak than in previous data, easier if you plot in INT-versus-OF space, can do a correction
    • can get a good spectrum by histogramming PTINTall/PTOFamps - pretty weird. Seems pulse shape is a better energy metric than OF or integral.
    • also get pretty beautiful spectrum by histogramming PTWKf40-PTWKr40 (pulse width). Amazing!
  • Side2pB (DCRC3pA) timing seems to have shifted halfway through the series, need to investigate further
  • Using same techniques as before, looks like noise width is only 2.5 eVee - wow.
    • no - redid this, got 5.18 eV
