Previous Day

  • Lab in-personnel: Matt and Giulia
Status Run 75 in progress
Setup Tower Faces 5/3/2 → Cables 2/1/3 → nothing/diverter_board+extra_board/nothing → HVboard CONN1/2/3 → HV1/2 → DCRC55(1)/50(3)
Lead shield in place. Am Source y = 0.03 mm
1010 Goldman/Tower/MC(H35)/Coldplate = 40.9/71.0/36.7/179 mK, Still = 1.37 K / 0.110 mbar / 0 mW, G1/G2= 264/235 mbar, 1K Pot = 1.57 K / 11±1 mbar, MB = 70.8%
1015 Fill LN2 cold trap bath.
1045 Goldman = 40.8 mK. Set QET biases to target dP/dI=1.0 uV. Didn't have to adjust driver offsets, baselines ~ -0.9 V
1224 Ramp HV up to 112.6V using RootSequencer. This is prebias
1229 After 5 minutes ramp HV down to 98.08 V
1232 Start 98.08 V data series after 5 min 15% prebias, 39 min long, with 1000 initial randoms, no in-run randoms, trigger on DCRC3pC threshold 20.
Start series with the Start Button.
1315 After stopping series dial HV down to 0.0 V using RootSequencer
Note: I've been ramping the HV in qI steps of 0.04 with 210 ms pauses, which is about 5V/s. (Although OmniLogger makes it look more like 3V/s.)

Some analysis notes:

  • 20V data: noise width 22 eV with unmodified OF, 18.7 eV with OF linearized wrt INT
  • 100V data: noise width 19.2 eV with unmodified OF, 11.8 eV with OF linearized wrt INT
  • 150V data: noise width 61 eV with unmodified OF, 16.9 eV with OF linearized wrt INT
  • 100V data with prebias: noise width 8.1 eV with OF linearized wrt INT
Now we'll try moving the source over pC to see whether we measure better noise width.
1605 Double-click Arduino Bridge link on desktop. Establish communication with the Arduino. Temperature spike as usual when doing this remotely.
1610 Set Dwell to 40 ms
1614 Do mvNwait -4steps×455 times, 40 second wait, with dwell = 40 and power = 6.8 V. (Around 5.93 mm/hour)
This sequence will take 5hr3min20sec and will move the source a total distance of 30.00 mm ending at y = 30.03 mm. Should end at 9:17 pm.
Tower temperature averages around 0.52 K with familiar oscillations.
2200 Goldman = 57 mK and cooling
2205 Turn on DCRC1 LEDs with rep rate reduced from 5000 to 500. Turn off LEDs after 3 minutes. Goldman peaked at 1.28 K.
