Previous Day

  • Lab in-person: Matt
  • Virtual partner: Ruiren
Status Run 74 in progress.
Setup: DIB1/2+acc → SL 41/43 → 3.2 MHz filters → cables 2/3 → nothing/motor_board+HV_board → DCRC50(3)/55(1). No lead/poly shield.
1237 MB = 28.0%
1205 Tower = 97.3 mK
1301 Start 31min series of 5V data (bias applied after 1 min), with 1000 beginning randoms, trigger threshold 50/50/50/50 on DCRC3qI/qO/DCRC1qI/qO, 5 Hz in-run randoms, with 1.6384 ms pulses (8192 length) and 400 us prepulse (500 length).
Use sequence r74_takeandflash_dcrcbias.msl
1337 MB = 26.6%
1450 Matt enters lab
1455 Tower/MC/Coldplate = 98.5/30.9/188 mK, Still = 1.43 K / 0.130 mbar / 0 mW, G1/G2= 182/173 mbar, 1K Pot = 1.68 K / 36±2 mbar.
Found the gasket for the cap for the transfer line lance lying on the floor. Must have fallen out during the last transfer. Pushed it back into the cap.
Put a piece of rubber hose in the hook for the scale to weigh the Dewar, so it would hang higher and the wheel wouldn't touch the ground.
1527 Begin LHe transfer @ MB = 22.8%
1557 End LHe transfer @ MB = 90.9%
1630 MB = 90.8 %
1645 Fill LN2 cold trap bath
1655 Matt exits lab
Recommendations for one-person LHe transfers with the new transfer line:
Dewar position: back corner lined up with pedestal base
Ladder placement: with no shield, it's easiest to have ladder pushed in between the pillars, close to the stand.
In this Dewar position the transfer line is rather curved, but I think that's OK.
The hook for the far end of transfer line should be situated between the black-capped pumpout port and the brass nut at the end. This will keep the line from sliding down the hook. Also there is a wad of tape on the gray pipe to prevent the hook from sliding backwards too far.
