Previous Day

  • Lab in-person: Ruiren
  • Virtual partner: Matt
Setup Run 73. DIB 1/3/4 → Stripline 43/48/41 → pi-filters 1/2/3 → Cable 3/1/2 → nothing/nothing/accessory_interposer → HV_Conn 1/3/2 → HV 1/2 → DCRCX(4)/DCRC55(1)-master; DCRC33(2) → HV control. DCRCs on. Lead/poly shield erected (4 lead walls, 2 poly walls).
Status Did a partial warmup, restarted 1K Pot and circulation yesterday. Overnight, Tower got as low as 57.5 mK, but then it rose to 72 mK, then relaxed a little to 68 mK
1000 Ruiren temperature = 36.7C
1415 Ruiren enters lab
1417 transfer lN2 into cold trap dewar
1418 Tower/MC/Coldplate = 67.9 /52.8 /198.5 mK, Still = 1.51 K / 0.120 mbar / 0 mW, G1/G2= 410/383 mbar, 1K Pot = 1.65 K, P2 = 28 mbar.
1530 Confusing IbIs. For a while I was only seeing pulses in DCRC1pB, which has a higher Tc than the other channels. Tried IbIs on the two DCRC4 channels and they sort of looked normal, but the implied resistance makes no sense, only like 20 mOhm, and it's not uniform. Now however I'm seeing pulses in all channels.
1630 IbIs on DCRC1pC&D consistent with detector temperature around 69 mK, pretty high. Tower thermometer around 73 mK
1645 IbIs on DCRC4pB&C is fucking baffling. There are decent pulses in pB, weak ones in pC, at reasonable mid-range QET biases. But the IbIs is downward-sloped all the way down to 0 uA, no upward-sloped transition region. Pulses get weaker in some smooth way as QET bias is reduced. Makes no sense at all.
Earlier I considered swapping DCRC4 for a different DCRC, now I'm thinking that again…
