- Lab in-person: Matt
- Virtual partner: everyone at group meeting
| 0845 | Matt Fritts body temperature = 97.2 F |
|---|---|
| Setup | Run 73. DIB 1/3/4 → Stripline 43/48/41 → Cable 3/1/2 → nothing/nothing/accessory_interposer → HV_Conn 1/3/2 → HV 1/2 → DCRCX(4)/DCRC50(3)-master; DCRC33(2) → HV control. DCRCs on overnight. Lead/poly shield erected (4 lead walls, 2 poly walls). |
| 0750 | MB 62.0% |
| 0820 | Tower = 68.6 mK, G1/G2= 218/205 mbar, Still = 0.160 mbar / 5 mW, 1K Pot = 1.70 K / 50±3 mbar. |
| This doesn't look great. Tower temperature not falling, wandered slowly overnight between 66 and 70 mK. Circulation pressures have gone up a lot, though they seem to be leveling out. The relation between G1 and G2 has gone back to normal (G1>G2) I wonder a little if the mixture is too low - it's gone down slowly over a few years, close to 700 mbar now. One idea is to add a little more 4He. But there is nothing obvious suggesting that it's too low in the still. |
|
| 0940 | Set DCRC50(3) to same settings as DCRC55(1), because we switched to DCRC50(3) yesterday (because DCRC55(1) would not power on) |
| Note: accessing MIDAS remotely by opening firefox from a putty session on cdms1 | |
| Better method: with a Remote Desktop connection to the Fridge computer, you can do everything: access MIDAS from the browser and also use the Pulse Viewer through a Putty connection (with x-forwarding) to CDMS2. The response of the Pulse Viewer is much faster this way. | |
| 1000 | After some fiddling, get the DAQ programs started on MIDAS (dcrc_driver01, towerfe3_01, triggerfe2). |
| 1005 | Start Pulse Viewer, see some noise traces on some channels. Didn't see any pulses. |

| 1300 | Matt arrives in lab |
|---|---|
| 1300 | Tower/MC/Coldplate = 68.8/33.0/202 mK, Still = 1.61 K/ 0.16 mbar / 5 mW, G1/G2= 230/214 mbar, 1K Pot = 1.69 K / 48±3 mbar. |
| 1320 | Turn off Still Heater. We'll watch MC thermometer and see what happens. |
| 1350 | Turning off Still Heater didn't seem to make things better. MC went down from 33.0→32.2 mK at first then rose to 34.4 mK then settled down to 33.4 mK. |
| 1350 | Turn on Still Heater to 5 mW again. |
| 1405 | MC spiked at first but now back to where it was an hour ago. Fridge pressures back to what they were too. |
| 1435 | Fill LN2 cold trap bath |
| 1440 | Matt leaves lab |
| 1620 | ZAP all SQUIDs on DCRC 3,4 |
| 1700 | Try tuning SQUID DCRC3pB. Didn't help clean up its jagged looking pulses |
| 1713 | Start a 60 min series at HV = 0, CDMS detector: Driver Gains = 1x, DCRC4/3 QET biases = (500/360/430)/(360/360/400) uA, Front-End Gains = (3/3/3)/(5/5/5) 1000 BOR randoms, trigger on DCRC1pD threshold = 10 Use sequence SimpleDataLoopNoFlash.msl |
| note: TES settings have not been optimized. This is just a quick dataset so we can make sure to get the processing working. At least Side1pF(DCRC3pD) is looking pretty good. | |
| 1725 | Tower = 63.4 mK (Tower temperature fell a bit after zapping) |
| 1940 | Matt Fritts body temperature = 98.4 F |
