2019/09/11 (Wednesday)

Previous Day

Status: warming up. All mixture in dump. LN2 Cold Trap 1 warm and ready to pump out. IVC has about 1 atm of N2 @ RT. Cryostat vacuum jacket has He and N2 in it. 1K Pot needle valve open. Still and MC heaters on @ 20 mW.
1000 Recovery meter = 312597.38 cuft. Recovery rate = 1 cuft/130 hours.
1000 MC(Cernox) = 283.2 K, rising at 0.8 K/hour. This suggests a warming time constant of 16.3 hours. Already a little above 50 F, around dew point, though it’s raining today so humidity is high.
1100 Cryostat vacuum jacket = 1.4 mbar.
Begin pumping out cryostat vacuum jacket with scroll pump
1115 Switch to pumping cryostat vacuum jacket with turbo pump
1505 Turbo pumping pressure on cryostat vacuum jacket: 0.46 ubar. Jacket pressure with pump valved out: 19 ubar. Stop pumping out cryostat vacuum jacket.
1515 Recovery meter = 312597.38 cuft. Close valve from main bath to recovery.
1515 MC(Cernox) = 285.8 K. Turn off MC and Still heaters.
1520 Fridge(G1) = 15.9 mbar. This is essentially unchanged since we saw H2 boiloff several days ago.
Begin pumping out fridge with scroll pump.
1545 Drop the dewar and erect the clean tent.
1640 G1/P1(fridge) = 1.5/0.20 mbar, pretty flat. Stop pumping out fridge: close Condenser speedivalve, Still gate valve, V1, V3, and valves to scroll pump.
1650 Check warm LN2 Trap 1 at G1: > 1 bar! Open it up all the way to G3 - this is enough extra volume to reduce G1 to 287 mbar. Start pumping out with scroll pump.
only pumped out partially, can do the rest tomorrow
