| 1545 | Testing the 4He pump: with the valve to the pump inlet closed, we simply turned on the pump and felt the exhaust coming out of the oil mist eliminator (with the new cartridge installed). You can feel a puff of air when the pump starts. Turning off the pump and turning it on again we could feel the puff again. |
| 1600 | We removed the oil mist eliminator and put the old, oil-saturated cartridge back in, then put it on the pump again. Then when we turned on the pump you couldn't feel any puff of air at the exhaust. Apparently the 7PSI safety valve in the OME was not being tripped, but rather the exhaust was leaking out elsewhere. |
