2018/09/10 (Monday)

Previous Day

Setup:
DIB1/3/4 → 3.2 MHz filters 2/3/1 → cable 3/1/2 → gender changer 3/?/2 → HVConn 1/3/2 → HV 1/2 → DCRC55(1)/DCRC50(3)

1.1kV → NaI B/C → Ortec 452(gain=5, shaping = 6 us, output=10V) / Ortec 575A(gain=10, shaping = 3us) → x10/x10 attenuator → DCRCX(4)
DCRC33(2) → kepco 1kV power supply → HV input
status: Took background data overnight at -80V.
0912 Tower/MC/Coldplate = 30.8/29.8/189 mK, Still = 1.4±0.1 K / 0.060 mbar, G1/G2 = 126/118 mbar, 1K Pot = 1.60 K / 18 mbar, Turbo on IVC = 0.86 nbar, MB = 32.6%
0917 Fill LN2 cold trap bath.
1230 Do “Stop Immediately” on sequence (between datasets, during post-flash wait)
1230 Run a test IbIs sequence, IbIsDCRC1pA_test.msl. This one uses loops and incrementing, both of which are presumably doable in the MIDAS sequence language.
this seems to have worked. But we'll need to reset the driver gains and offsets. To restore to our standards can check gedit ../livedata/run35864.odb & for example.
1300 Prep for IbIs. Reset all Driver Gains from 2 to 1. Then take QET biases to where IbIs is max (see May 31) and adjust driver offsets so all are near top of range. Readjust all QET biases to standard transition values.
1310 Dial HV up to -80V using change_HV_0_to_80_preBias_15_5_DCRC2.msl
1323 Start IbIs sequence on DCRC1pA, from 450 to 200 step -2 uA, HV = -80 V, front-end gain 10, driver gain 1. Using IbIs_loop_DCRC1pA.msl
Sequence took 23 minutes.
1419 Start IbIs sequence on DCRC1pB, from 450 to 200 step -2 uA, HV = -80 V, front-end gain 10, driver gain 1. Using IbIs_loop_DCRC1pB.msl
1452 Start LHe transfer (MB = 23.8%)
1515 Dial HV down to 0 V. We'll do a flash during the transfer.
1525 Flash DCRCs 1,3 for 30 seconds
1545 End LHe transfer (MB = 94.5%)
1550 Restore Driver Gains and Driver Offsets to standard values in prep for overnight data
1600 adjust driver offsets, most channels didn't go back to their previous baselines
1615 Remove 133Ba source from safe and place between mu metal shield and cryostat, 4“ below top of mu metal shield.
1616 Start 10 x 2hr Ba datasets at -80V split into 10min subruns, with CDMS and NaI detectors running and DCRC2 as HV controller. Using sequence HVscan-80×10-15_5PreBias-30Flash-30wait-2hrData-10minSubRun.msl
CDMS detector: Driver Gains = 2x, QET biases = (280/260/305)/(140/280/295) uA, Front-End Gains = 10
NaI detector: 1.1kV → NaI B/C → Ortec 452(gain=5, shaping = 6 us, output=10V, Pos) / Ortec 575A(gain=10, shaping = 3us, Pos) → x10/x10 attenuator → DCRC4PB/PA, Driver Gains = 1/1, PhononWaveFormLength = 1024 (512 samples), PhononPrepulseSamples = 64 (64 samples)
1000 BOR randoms, trigger on DCRC3pB/D threshold = 7/9
1620 Fill LN2 cold trap full.
1855 Some kind of DAQ crash. 07180910_1807 is on its 45th dump. MIDAS webpage is down.
1900 Restart MIDAS and DAQ programs. Sequence starts where it left off.
1910 While bias is ramping down, turn on DCRC3pC trigger with threshold 10. Now DCRC3pB/C/D threshold = 7/10/9
