2018/09/07 (Friday)

Previous Day

Setup:
DIB1/3/4 → 3.2 MHz filters 2/3/1 → cable 3/1/2 → gender changer 3/?/2 → HVConn 1/3/2 → HV 1/2 → DCRC55(1)/DCRC50(3)

1.1kV → NaI B/C → Ortec 452(gain=5, shaping = 6 us, output=10V) / Ortec 575A(gain=10, shaping = 3us) → x10/x10 attenuator → DCRCX(4)
DCRC33(2) → kepco 1kV power supply → HV input
status: Took PuBe data overnight at -80V with PuBe source out of barrel.
0850 Tower/MC/Coldplate = 30.6/29.6/185 mK, Still = 1.3±0.1 K / 0.070 mbar, G1/G2 = 139/118 mbar, 1K Pot = 1.60 K / 19 mbar, Turbo on IVC = 1.0 nbar. MB = 76.0%
0855 Fill LN2 cold trap bath.
Current dataset will end at 9:30, so we'll put the PuBe back in the barrel at that time.
0932 Put PuBe source back in paraffin barrel. We are currently between datasets of the sequence which began yesterday.
0942 Stop sequence, it's waiting after a flash. We'll start up again later. Planning to remove source to take bg data and gamma calibration data
1020 Remove PuBe source from lab.
1031 Turn on 80V bias using sequence changeHV_0_to_80_preBias_15_5_DCRC2.msl
1045 Measure a background rate of 37 Hz using DCRC1pA.
1047 Remove 133Ba source from safe and place at top of mu-metal shield on West side of fridge. Measure a rate of 56 Hz using DCRC1pA.
1052 Push 133Ba source down to detector level between mu metal shield and cryostat. Rate>~300 Hz.
1052 Move 133Ba source to 4 inches below top of mu metal shield. Measure a rate of 56 Hz using DCRC1pA.
1102 Start data - mistake, didn't break it into 10 min subruns
1104 Start data - mistake, still had long tracelengths on DCRC1. Fixed this.
1110 Start 1 x 2hr 133Ba dataset at -80V split into 10min subruns, with CDMS and NaI detectors running and DCRC2 as HV controller. Using sequence timed_subrun.msl
CDMS detector: Driver Gains = 2x, QET biases = (280/260/305)/(140/280/295) uA, Front-End Gains = 10
NaI detector: 1.1kV → NaI B/C → Ortec 452(gain=5, shaping = 6 us, output=10V, Pos) / Ortec 575A(gain=10, shaping = 3us, Pos) → x10/x10 attenuator → DCRC4PB/PA, Driver Gains = 1/1, PhononWaveFormLength = 1024 (512 samples), PhononPrepulseSamples = 64 (64 samples)
1000 BOR randoms, trigger on DCRC3pB/D threshold = 7/9
1320 Dial HV from -80V to 0V using change_HV_80_to_0_DCRC2.msl
1325 Flash LEDs on DCRCs 1,3 for 30 seconds
1442 Start 10 x 2hr 133Ba datasets (actually 1 Ba, the rest bg) at -80V split into 10min subruns, with CDMS and NaI detectors running and DCRC2 as HV controller. Using sequence HVscan-80×10-15_5PreBias-30Flash-30wait-2hrData-10minSubRun.msl
CDMS detector: Driver Gains = 2x, QET biases = (280/260/305)/(140/280/295) uA, Front-End Gains = 10
NaI detector: 1.1kV → NaI B/C → Ortec 452(gain=5, shaping = 6 us, output=10V, Pos) / Ortec 575A(gain=10, shaping = 3us, Pos) → x10/x10 attenuator → DCRC4PB/PA, Driver Gains = 1/1, PhononWaveFormLength = 1024 (512 samples), PhononPrepulseSamples = 64 (64 samples)
1000 BOR randoms, trigger on DCRC3pB/D threshold = 7/9
1645 Fill LN2 cold trap bath
1655 Remove 133Ba source from fridge, return to safe. Will continue to take -80V background data.
2010 MIDAS seems to have crashed. No dataset started after the flash around 1655, the bias is still at 0V.
2015 Restart MIDAS and the DAQ programs. Sequence restarts. Voltage is ramping up.
