2018/01/31 (Wednesday)

Previous Day

Status: All mixture in dump, fridge isolated. LN2 traps warm and pumped out. 1K Pot needle valve closed.
New striplines (41,43,48) installed. Fridge mostly reassembled.
1130 Polish outside surface of lower 100mK can again.
1200 Install middle IVC can with standard 1.5mm indium o-ring
1330 Tie striplines up with dental floss to 600 mK rod, so that lower IVC can be installed
1400 Attach lower IVC can with no indium and small gap. Bleed nitrogen gas into IVC from the turbo station, through the top, to flush out air from IVC. Continue until N2 cylinder regulator falls about 50 PSI, then tighten screws on lower IVC can. Will leave it full of nitrogen during idle period to minimize oxidation.
Note: did not install 30 mK can or stripline heatsink and buckle. We're not sure that the next run will use the 600mK rod (which is installed) so we may wind up needing to disassemble.
