Previous Day

Setup: DIB 1/3/4 → 3.2 MHz filters 1/2/3 → cable 1/3/2 → gender changers → rerouting boards 1/3/4 → DCRC55(1)/33(2)/50(3)
Overnight baked for 12 hours.
1027 Tower/MC/Coldplate = 82.7/57.3/366 mK, Still = 1.26 K / 0.20 mbar, G1/G2 = 265/258 mbar, 1K Pot = 1.60 K / 19 mbar. MB = 60.5%
1034 Fill LN2 cold trap full.
1045 Redo a couple of these from yesterday that looked a little strange in data.
1047 Start series of data with Vbias(external) = -10.00 V, with 1000 beginning randoms, and a 40/30/15/40/40 ADC bin threshold trigger on DCRC1qI/qO/DCRC2qO/DCRC3qI/qO, with trigger baseline = 32 samples and trigger length = 10 samples (these are 2x the usual values).
1110 Stop run, ground and flash for 60 s
1141 Start series of data with Vbias(external) = -25.01 V, with 1000 beginning randoms, and a 40/30/15/40/40 ADC bin threshold trigger on DCRC1qI/qO/DCRC2qO/DCRC3qI/qO, with trigger baseline = 32 samples and trigger length = 10 samples (these are 2x the usual values).
1208 Stop run, ground and flash for 60 s
1230 Start series of data with Vbias(external) = -40.01 V, with 1000 beginning randoms, and a 40/30/15/40/40 ADC bin threshold trigger on DCRC1qI/qO/DCRC2qO/DCRC3qI/qO, with trigger baseline = 32 samples and trigger length = 10 samples (these are 2x the usual values).
1251 Stop run, ground and flash for 60 s
1312 Oops, forgot to ground it. Ground and flash for 60 s
1339 Start series of data with Vbias(external) = -70.0 V, with 1000 beginning randoms, and a 40/30/15/40/40 ADC bin threshold trigger on DCRC1qI/qO/DCRC2qO/DCRC3qI/qO, with trigger baseline = 32 samples and trigger length = 10 samples (these are 2x the usual values).
1401 Stop run, ground and flash for 60 s
1423 Start series of data with Vbias(external) = -90.0 V, with 1000 beginning randoms, and a 40/30/15/40/40 ADC bin threshold trigger on DCRC1qI/qO/DCRC2qO/DCRC3qI/qO, with trigger baseline = 32 samples and trigger length = 10 samples (these are 2x the usual values).
1446 Stop run, ground and flash for 60 s
1509 Let's take a long series just triggering on the central channel to try and see the lower 241Am lines.
1510 Start series of data with Vbias(external) = 90.0 V, with 1000 beginning randoms, and a 40 ADC bin threshold trigger on DCRC3qO, with trigger baseline = 32 samples and trigger length = 10 samples (these are 2x the usual values). This threshold was about 30 keV, not low enough
1643 Stop run. Dump sizes began to fall around minute 60
1655 Stop programs, power down DCRCs. Put DCRC1 on DIB3 to try and operate the vacuum electrode LEDs.
1656 On DIB2 switchboard, turn off DIB LED switches (U6-1,U6-2) and turn on external IR LED switches. Power DIB3 IR LED1 using DCRC1 with standard LED settings: LEDPulseWidth/LEDRepRate/LED1Current = 100/5000/0.6. Tower temp rises to 92.5 mK
1701 Power DIB3 IR LED 1 using DCRC1 with LED settings: LEDPulseWidth/LEDRepRate/LED1Current = 100/5000/0.8. Tower temp rises to ~250 mK
1703 Power DIB3 IR LED 1 using DCRC1 with LED settings: LEDPulseWidth/LEDRepRate/LED1Current = 100/5000/1. Tower temp rises to ~310 mK
1703 Also enable LED2. Power DIB3 IR LEDs using DCRC1 with LED settings: LEDPulseWidth/LEDRepRate/LED1Current/LED2Current = 100/5000/1/1. Tower temp rises to ~410 mK
1708 Also enable LED2. Power DIB3 IR LEDs using DCRC1 with LED settings: LEDPulseWidth/LEDRepRate/LED1Current/LED2Current = 100/5000/2/2. Tower temp rises to ~710 mK
1710 Turn off LEDs. Set DIB3 switchboard to connect UV LEDs. Wait for tower to cool.
1712 Fill LN2 cold trap full.
1718 Tower = 340 mK. It's taking much longer to cool than when we baked/flashed using the DIB LEDs. Looking back, it also seemed to heat more slowly. Maybe these electrode LEDs, which are pointed right at the crystal face, heat the crystal more than the DIB LEDs and we're now seeing the slow crystal cooling.
1728 With the DIB IR LEDs, it usually takes 1.5 min to cool from ~700mK to ~200mK. Now it's taking ~20 min
1954 Tower = 72.5 mK
1955 Power DIB3 UV LED 1 using DCRC1 with LED settings: LEDPulseWidth/LEDRepRate/LED1Current = 100/5000/-0.6. Tower temp rises to ~170 mK
2015 Also enable UV LED2. Power DIB3 UV LEDs using DCRC1 with LED settings: LEDPulseWidth/LEDRepRate/LED1Current/LED2Current = 100/5000/-0.6/-0.6. Tower temp rises to ~215 mK
2029 Power DIB3 UV LEDs using DCRC1 with LED settings: LEDPulseWidth/LEDRepRate/LED1Current/LED2Current = 100/5000/-0.8/-0.8. Tower temp rises to ~320 mK
2100 Power DIB3 UV LEDs using DCRC1 with LED settings: LEDPulseWidth/LEDRepRate/LED1Current/LED2Current = 100/5000/-1.5/-1.5. Tower temp rises to ~415 mK
2115 Power DIB3 UV LEDs using DCRC1 with LED settings: LEDPulseWidth/LEDRepRate/LED1Current/LED2Current = 100/5000/-2/-2. Tower temp rises to ~500 mK
2128 Power DIB3 UV LEDs using DCRC1 with LED settings: LEDPulseWidth/LEDRepRate/LED1Current/LED2Current = 100/5000/-2.5/-2.5. Tower temp rises to ~560 mK
2139 Power DIB3 UV LEDs using DCRC1 with LED settings: LEDPulseWidth/LEDRepRate/LED1Current/LED2Current = 100/5000/-3.5/-3.5. Tower temp rises to ~665 mK
2217 Power DIB3 UV LEDs using DCRC1 with LED settings: LEDPulseWidth/LEDRepRate/LED1Current/LED2Current = 100/5000/-4.0/-4.0. Tower temp rises to ~700 mK
2305 Let's leave this to UV bake overnight. Run simple sequence to wait 5 hours and then turn off DCRC1 LEDs.
Conclusion: It seems that the LEDs are operating with the RevC.1 DCRC, albeit at higher current settings than we've used in the past. We can also achieve the same tower temperature of ~700 mK using either set of LEDs.
