Previous Day

Setup: DIB 1/3/4 → 3.2 MHz filters 1/2/3 → cable 1/3/2 → gender changers → rerouting boards 1/3/4 → DCRC55(1)/33(2)/50(3)
Status: Cooling to base.
1038 Tower/MC/Coldplate = 87.8/59.8/389 mK, Still = 1.19 K / 0.11 mbar, G1/G2 = 131/130 mbar, 1K Pot = 1.60 K / 20 mbar. MB = 63.8%
Looks like the tower was cooling at ~20mK/hr last night, but once it hit 88.5 mK at around 23:00 last night, the rate slowed dramatically to .08 mK/hr
1044 Tweak 1K pot needle valve.
1045 Data from yesterday indicates we have fixed the channel shorts from last run! Let's move ahead with some serious data taking.
1049 Since we are only taking charge data with pulse fall times of ~60 us, we don't really need the full 3.2768 ms standard trace length. Shorten charge trace lengths to 1.6384 ms (chargewaveformlength=8192) on DCRCs 1,2,3.
1056 Start series of data with Vbias(external) = -50.01 V, with 1000 beginning randoms, and a 70/60/70/100/80 ADC bin threshold trigger on DCRC1qI/qO/DCRC2qO/DCRC3qI/qO, with trigger baseline = 32 samples and trigger length = 10 samples (these are 2x the usual values).
1126 Dumps have all been ~140MB, traces still look good.
1127 Since adjusting needle valve, 1K pot pressure has stabilized at 50 mbar. However, tower temp has been oscillating ±3mK about 87.5 mK.
1139 Dumps started falling in size at around 35 min. Stop the run, ground the detector.
1140 MC temperature is also oscillating. This was observed last run as well and was stabilized by heating the still.
1142 Crap, remote IGH control wasn't enabled and I crashed all the vi's trying to apply still heat. Trying to recall how to start them all up again…
1205 Got all the vi's back.
1210 Apply 4mW heat to still. Still: 0.13→0.18 mbar, MC temp flat at 60.5 mK
1224 Apply 6mW heat to still. Still: 0.18→0.20 mbar, MC temp flat at 56.8 mK
1236 Tower temp is stable at 85.5 mK
1237 Flash for 60s with flashandflash tool.
1238 Fill LN2 cold trap.
1258 Tower = 86.1 mK
1300 Start series of data with Vbias(external) = -70.0 V, with 1000 beginning randoms, and a 70/60/70/100/80 ADC bin threshold trigger on DCRC1qI/qO/DCRC2qO/DCRC3qI/qO, with trigger baseline = 32 samples and trigger length = 10 samples (these are 2x the usual values).
1350 Dumps started falling in size at around 52 min. Stop the run, ground the detector.
1358 Flash for 60s with flashandflash tool.
1419 Tower = 86.6 mK
1421 Start series of data with Vbias(external) = 70.0 V, with 1000 beginning randoms, and a 70/60/70/100/80 ADC bin threshold trigger on DCRC1qI/qO/DCRC2qO/DCRC3qI/qO, with trigger baseline = 32 samples and trigger length = 10 samples (these are 2x the usual values).
1514 Dumps started falling in size at around 48 min. Stop the run, ground the detector.
1515 Flash for 60s with flashandflash tool.
1538 Tower = 86.3 mK
1539 Start series of data with Vbias(external) = 50.0 V, with 1000 beginning randoms, and a 80 ADC bin threshold trigger on DCRC3qO (QE) only, with trigger baseline = 32 samples and trigger length = 10 samples (these are 2x the usual values).
1604 Stop the run, ground the detector, flash for 60s with flashandflash tool.
1631 Tower = 86.4 mK
1632 Separated DCRCs to try and reduce electronic noise. Must have bumped something because tower temp began slowly climbing.
Restarting DCRC programs didn't help, but powering down DCRC3 did. Starting it back up heats the fridge. Power cycle all 3 dcrcs. Turning of DCRCs 1,2 does nothing, but adding DCRC3 heats the fridge. Power down DCRC3, fridge cools.
1646 Let DCRC3 sit and think about what it has done for a minute. Re-seat all detector cables in case something was disconnected. Now, power on DCRC3, no heating.
1651 Start series of data with Vbias(external) = 30.0 V, with 1000 beginning randoms, and a 70/60/70/100/80 ADC bin threshold trigger on DCRC1qI/qO/DCRC2qO/DCRC3qI/qO, with trigger baseline = 32 samples and trigger length = 10 samples (these are 2x the usual values).
1652 Tower = 85.2 mK
1704 Getting some noise in traces, raise all trigger levels by 10 → 80/70/80/110/90 ADC bin threshold trigger on DCRC1qI/qO/DCRC2qO/DCRC3qI/qO
1709 Still getting a good amount of noise traces, raise all trigger levels by 10 again→ 90/80/90/120/100 ADC bin threshold trigger on DCRC1qI/qO/DCRC2qO/DCRC3qI/qO
1719 The triggering is working kinda strangely. There will be a few good events in a row, then a bunch of noise traces. Try disabling DCRC3 triggers.
1728 Oh, that helped a lot. Now its all pulse triggers. This is around event 282450
1733 Stop the run, ground detector.
1734 Start 12 hour bake.
1740 Fill LN2 cold trap full
