2017/10/02 (Monday)

Previous Day

Status: warming. All mixture in dump. LN2 traps warm and pumped out. Contaminants from fridge were pumped out at 220 K. Cryostat vacuum jacket has been softened with He and N2.
0730 MC(Cernox) = 279 K. Warming at a somewhat higher rate than measured yesterday, tau = 12.0 hours. Should hit 50 F at about 10:30 today.
0930 MC(Cernox) = 275.0 K. This is a somewhat more accurate reading on the LakeShore display, slightly different calibration from the LabVIEW output.
Lab 24.0 C 39% humidity. Dew point 48 F / 8.9 C / 282.0 K.
If the warming is still going at a rate of tau = 12.0 hours, then we'll hit dew point at about 14:00
0955 Yesterday the recovery valve to the hose that connects to the storage Dewar was closed, but the one that isolates the cryostat (near the copper coil) was left open. Closing this valve now.
1025 Let a little over 1 atm of N2 into IVC.
1115 MC(Cernox) = 276.6 K. Unfortunately this indicates slower warming, tau = 23.3 hours. So looks like we won't hit dew point until 18:20 tonight.
1305 Pumping mixture to dump - after about 1.5 hours, G2 = 780.6 mbar. Close V9 and turn off He3 pump.
1435 MC(Cernox) = 279.9 K. Tau a little shorter than earlier, 19.0 hours. Should hit 282 K (dew point) around 17:00
1656 Power down DCRCs
1710 MC(Cernox) = 282.4 K
1717 Hook up dewar jacket to pump manifold. Pump on manifold with scroll pump. Accidentally open dewar jacket valve without pumping out line between manifold and dewar jacket. Now, start pumping on dewar with scroll pump. Pressure reads 1.6 mbar.
1727 Pump manifold pressure = 1.6e-1 mbar
1734 Pump manifold pressure = 7.4e-2 mbar. Switching to turbo pump.
