2017/05/15 (Monday)

Previous Day

Setup: DIB1/3/4 → 3.2 MHz filters 3/1/2 → cable 3/1/2 →gender changer 3/1/2 → HVConn 1/3/2 → HV 1/2 → DCRC55/DCRC33
PuBe source in paraffin barrel behind shield (west side)
0855 Fill LN2 cold trap bath. Some concern over the fact that it may not have been filled yesterday - nothing on the run diary to indicate it was filled. So far this morning though the fridge temperatures and pressures seem close to normal.
Took NaI-triggered data overnight at 50V, looks OK.
0900 Tower/MC/Coldplate = 33.0/30.6/189 mK, Still = 1.3 K / 0.110 mbar, G1/G2 = 220/210 mbar, 1K Pot = 1.683 K / 26 mbar. Main Bath = 35.4%. Boil off rate: faster than slow mode. (predicted level: 42.1%)
0905 HV = 50.00 V, Vtest = 3.9 mV → Vdetector = 48.3 V
Front-end gains listed in the run diary yesterday are not accurate, do not agree with current settings. I guess they were copied and pasted from who knows how old run diary entries. Check recent ODB files to get the actual values and correct run diary…
1041 Start 1 1-hour data series of 1-sided 50V HV coincidence data with Frontend Gain = (15/15/2)/(3/4/4), OG = 4/2, QET biases = table from Apr 28, with 1000 beginning randoms, no flashing, and a 6ADC bin threshold trigger on DCRC1 pA (Side1 pE). Running OR trigger of NaI detectors with PuBe source on west side of shield. NaI detector C has 311 mV threshold and detector B has 288 mV threshold
1101 Increase trigger threshold from 6 to 12 because detector is triggering too often. I think overall noise is higher now than last week.
1118 Increase trigger threshold from 12 to 24 because detector is triggering too often.
1131 Decrease trigger threshold from 24 to 20.
we'll take another calibration series to get some more stats with a good trigger setting.
1144 Start 1 1-hour data series of 1-sided 50V HV coincidence data with Frontend Gain = (15/15/2)/(3/4/4), OG = 4/2, QET biases = table from Apr 28, with 1000 beginning randoms, no flashing, and a 20ADC bin threshold trigger on DCRC1 pA (Side1 pE). Running OR trigger of NaI detectors with PuBe source on west side of shield. NaI detector C has 311 mV threshold and detector B has 288 mV threshold
oops It looks like maybe this data series was set for 0 initial randoms and 10Hz in-run randoms…
1250 Dial HV down to 0V
1300 Start 30 minute bake with DCRCs1&2
1302 Start LHe transfer (MB = 29.3%)
1408 Finish LHe transfer (MB = 91.1%)
1435 Start 60 minute bake with DCRCs1&2
1645 Fill LN2 cold trap bath
1902 took 22Na source out and put near fridge, kind of on the fishing pole (meter stick) setup, on the southeast aluminum support, there is a radiation sign there, the purpose is to calibrate the HPGe detector, which is operational
1952 switched to new DAQ for diagnostics, behaviour may vary. It kind of works. Turning on frontends works, Starting a run works, Can view pulses on DCRC1, but switching to DCRC2 causes the SQUID tuning GUI to “think” that a frontend stopped even though it has not. Troubleshoot that tomorrow, didn't try to write any data to disk
