2016/12/03 (Saturday)

Previous Day

Setup: DIB1/3/4 → 3.2 MHz filters → cables1/2/3 → DCRC55(1)/33(2)/50(3)
Overnight: DCRC3pD railed 13 minutes into the 1202_2312 run. Since this was the triggering channel the files get very small after that, only huge events push DCRC3pD out of its rail. Also looks like I didn't set any initial randoms.
1122 Start by going back to Nov 15 QET settings, these were also marked as the “old” QET settings in yesterday's log
1135 Start LHe Transfer (23.3%)
1141 Tower/MC/Coldplate = 32.9/35.8/209 mK, Still = 1.1 K / 110 μbar, G1/G2 = 187/164 mbar, 1K Pot = 1.66 K / 20 mbar. MB = 23.3%. Boil off rate: slow-mode.
1150 adjusted DCRC1 PhC to QET bias of 181 uA instead of 185 uA to avoid pulse ringing
1157 take 88Y source out of safe and put in lead castle behind cryostat
1220 Finish LHe Transfer (91.2%)
1220 Return 88Y source to safe, take out 22Na source, going to use this for data taking
1240 Release pressure from MB.
1249 Set DAQ to self-trigger, want to take a few hours of just 22Na data to see if the Compton spectrum at low-energy is just visible
1255 Fill LN2 Coldtrap full.
1330 Re release pressure from MB.
1354 Something seems to have changed, need to snap all QETs and come back to a higher QET bias in order not to be superconducting (I guess, there were no pulses so not in transition and seems too low in QET bias to be normal) Modify all channels.
1413 Forgot to mention, I zapped SQUIDs after I noticed something was wrong, and before trying to modify all channels. It didn't seem to help
1443 Finally got all the channels back, most needed to be 5-10uA higher in QET bias.
1516 Start a sequence of 16 1-hour series of 0V data with Frontend Gain = 5/2/5, OG = 8/3/8, with 1000 beginning randoms, with no flashing in between series, and a 70ADC bin threshold on all Side-1 channels, self-triggered data with a 22Na source in the lead castle behind the cryostat.
