2016/09/13 (Tuesday)

Previous Day

Status: fridge at room temperature, cryostat Dewar is down, IVC is open.
Mixture is in dump and 3He pump, manual dump valves are closed.
1100 Reinstall middle section of IVC
1200 Put up clean tent
1320 Reattach still pumping line to still port at the gate valve and begin pumping out the still pumping line (the P1 volume) with the scroll pump. The scroll pump is attached to the 1K Pot pumping station - pumping through V5a, V2a, V7, and V8.
1330 P1 = 2.5 mbar and falling, P2 = 50 μbar and falling
1340 P1 = 600 μbar and falling, P2 = 20 μbar and flattening
1350 P1 = 360 μbar and falling, P2 = 17 μbar
1355 Close V8 to stop pumping out still line temporarily. Reattach condenser line to fridge at speedivalve. Open V2 and V1 to pump out condenser (also the LHe cold trap) with the scroll pump.
1357 Installing tower (again). Orienting with face 5 (readout) East and face 2 (Bias) West.
1405 G1 ≈ 700 μbar and pretty flat, P2 = 15 μbar and flat
1410 Open V8. Now pumping on the still pumping line (P1 volume) and the condenser line (including LHe trap) simultaneously.
1420 P1 = 260 μbar and falling, G1 is still around 1 mbar, P2 = 16 μbar
1445 P1 = 130 μbar and falling, P2 = 14 μbar
1515 P1 = 70 μbar and falling, P2 = 13 μbar
1535 P1 = 55 μbar and falling, P2 = 13 μbar
1635 P1 = 36 μbar and falling slowly, P2 = 12 μbar
Close all valves, turn off scroll pump to give it a rest.
1505 Both SQUETs installed and electrical checks are good.
1740 Attach bottom flange of IVC and begin tightening. Electrical checks look good again.
1750 Commence pumping on IVC as bottom flange is in final stages of tightening.
1800 Remove the clean tent and switch to turbopumping on IVC. Tomorrow after final tightening of IVC screws, IVC should be ready to leak check before raising dewar.
