Previous Day
| Status | Tower installed. Two stripline breaks. One on Stripline 20 / DIB3, which means we have to try to run with its rerouting board next to DIB2's rerouting board. |
| 0900 | Check depth or SQUET-end rerouting board sockets. They are actually just the right size for the SQUET pins. I'm not sure how the stripline plug winds up seeming so much thinner. |
| 1015 | Finish Stripline 19 rerouting boards |
| 1020 | For the Stripline 20 D50-side rerouting board the previous jumper wire had been removed. Looking at the SQUET-end board, 21 is jumped to 11 with the 11 socket removed. That's qO Bias rerouted through QET A Return #3. So to restore the D50 side: |
for D50-end rerouting card:
jump Pin 4 (QET A Return #3) on the male side (stripline side) to Pin 7 (qO Bias) on the female side (ebox side)
open switches (to break connections) corresponding to Pin 4 and Pin 7
| 1100 | Finish Stripline 20 rerouting boards |
| 1300 | Check the stripline continuity of the two broken traces after attaching rerouting boards to stripline ends. Both look good. |
| 1310 | Plug in DIB1 SQUET. Unfortunately SQUID B is open yet again. Did a pin-by-pin check of all Stripline 19 traces from BOB to stripline connector, checked all 50 with rerouting board in place. Find that SQUID B bias line is bad (pin 27 on SQUET side, pin 32 on D50 side). Trace resistance unstable when stripline is manipulated. |
Plan for rerouting Stripline 19:
Bad wire = SQUID B Bias. Reroute with good spare wire = QET D Return #1
for SQUET-end rerouting card:
add jumper from Pin 27 (SQUID B Bias) to Pin 40 (QET D Return #1)
break off Socket 40
for D50-end rerouting card:
jump Pin 48 (QET D Return #1) on the male side (stripline side) to Pin 32 (SQUID B Bias) on the female side (ebox side)
open switches (to break connections) corresponding to Pin 48 (switch U09-1) and Pin 32 (switch U09-2)
| 1400 | Plugged in the DIB3 SQUET, did an electrical checkout. SQUID B reads very high resistance, 600 kΩ. Check stripline continuity - all looks ok. Check SQUID B on SQUET pins - all looks OK. Try plugging it in again. |
| 1430 | DIB3 plugged in, now SQUID B looks fine. |
| 1600 | Finish Stripline 19 rerouting boards |
| 1630 | Plug in DIB1 SQUET. Feedback B/RET is open. Find that Feedback coil B line is bad (pin 14 on SQUET side). Trace resistance unstable while moving stripline. |
Plan for rerouting Stripline 19:
Bad wire = Feedback Coil B. Reroute with good spare wire = QET C Return #2
for SQUET-end rerouting card:
add jumper from Pin 14 (Feedback Coil B) to Pin 7 (QET C Return #2)
break off Socket 7
for D50-end rerouting card:
jump Pin 9 (QET C Return #2) on the male side (stripline side) to Pin 16 (Feedback Coil B) on the female side (ebox side)
open switches (to break connections) corresponding to Pin 9 (switch U05-2) and Pin 16 (switch U10-2)
| 1725 | Finish Stripline 19 rerouting boards |
