    • Requires further runs with G102a (4Q device) & G101b (spiral electrode).
    • Run 36 with G102a to take place in mid-February: single Am-241 source on electrode side facing Q2.
    • Chagani to send shipping container back to Stanford for modification.
    • Two runs expected with G101b: single Am-241 source facing Side 2 to complete charge collection efficiency plot; and run with beta source.
    • Aim to have these done by Spring so that paper can be submitted to collaboration for approval.
  2. Ortec [100] orientation crystal.
    • SLAC to fabricate into 4Q device for comparison with Umicore [100] orientation crystal G102a.
    • Chagani & Radpour to investigate breakdown voltage, neutralisation hold time, etc.

150 mm Si Crystals

Chagani, Kennedy, Mandic, Zhang.

  1. TAMU and UMN to purchase 150 mm diameter, 33.3 mm thick Si crystals.
    • Mandic to place order for Minnesota.
    • Ionisation measurements at first. Devices to feature either 5 concentric rings on one side with single charge electrode on other face and/or six concentric rings on one side with electrode on other face connected to phonon return lines.
  2. TAMU responsible for detector fabrication and shipping container design.
  3. UMN responsible for testing.
    • Kennedy, with help from Zhang, to design new 30 mK can, 600 mK rod and adapter plates with ability to host 100 mm crystals.
    • Chagani to design detector housing, clamps, crown and DIBs (100 mm crystal DIBs may suffice).
    • Chagani to investigate using vacuum side coaxes with SCUHBA extenders or flexible side coaxes.
    • Kennedy to design multiple source plate holder.
    • kennedy and TAMU student responsible for data acquisition and analysis.
  4. Priority given to 100 mm tests until Berkeley 400 fridge is ready. Nader estimates March.

Flexible Side Coax

Chagani, Codoreanu, Phenicie.

  1. Cable almost ready to test.
    • Codoreanu has taken over David's work, painting copper wires with carbon-based paint and use heat shrink for insulation. Shield provided by copper tape around heat shrink, with copper wires soldered onto tape to provide connection to ground.
    • Chagani to order MillMax pins and resistors.
    • Codoreanu & Phenicie to solder PCB and build flexible side coax.
    • Codoreanu to investigate whether an accelerometer would be required.
    • Run 35 will be a quick one (5 days) to test this cable, planned for Sunday 10th February.
    • Codoreanu & Phenicie to conduct noise tests and analyse PSDs.
    • Investigation of Nb/NbTi wire postponed until performance of copper cable assessed.

Radioactive Sources & Neutron Calibration

Chagani, Farinella, Radpour, Monin, Villano.

  1. Y-88 source delivered to laboratory on Monday 14th January.
    • Radiation services would like dosage to be monitored with GM-tube during first use.
    • Intend to expose source to G106a during week beginning Monday 28th January.
    • Chagani to determine initial lead castle design for shielding and handling of source.
    • Chagani & Farinella to conduct measurement. Farinella & Villano to analyse data.
    • Villano to tune source setup design for neutron production based on Monte Carlo.
    • Farinella & Radpour to help with assembly and design of source holder.
  2. Beta source.
    • Necessary for 100 mm IZIP and spiral electrode tests.
    • Wolfgang has procedure for creating Pb-210 source, but is unsure of contamination.
    • Could use copper or silicon target and etch final surface rather than cleaning it if contamination is a problem.
    • Eckert & Zielger may have alternatives. Chagani to investigate.
    • Chagani to push issue at DTC meeting on Monday 28th January. Nader aware of Minnesota's desire for beta source.
    • Monin to design beta source holder for 100 mm IZIP tests. Same source holder could be used for 100 mm spiral electrode tests.

LabVIEW DAQ & Data Analysis

Chagani, Kennedy.

  1. UMN LabVIEW DAQ version.
    • Chagani sent UMN version of LabVIEW DAQ to Berkeley.
    • Bruno and Matt Pyle will compare UMN LabVIEW DAQ version with that on CVS in effort to standardise it.
    • Bruno and Matt Pyle will investigate repeated events and trigger definitions. Jeter has suggestion for work around by using global ALL trigger. Additionally, global trigger time could be used to remove repeated events. Chagani to investigate.
    • Matt Pyle will develop automated procedure for IbIs measurements.
  2. Development of DAQ at testing facilities.
    • DAQ group has expressed desire to work on DAQ when two or more DCRCs are in use and plugged into detector at base temperature.
    • Chagani has obtained fixed IP addresses for DCRCs.
    • However, may not be necessary. Joel has suggested using TeamViewer. Chagani to investigate and report back to DAQ group.
  3. LabVIEW expert at UMN.
