Attendees: Chagani, Codoreanu, Kennedy, Mandic, Monin, Radpour, Strandberg, Zhang

Upgrade & Maintenance

  1. Install third stripline.
    • Radpour has checked stripline for continuity: no problems were witnessed.
    • We have all the necessary parts to install a third stripline.
    • Zhang & Chagani will install third stripline in cleanroom.
    • Should be ready for installation by the end of this week.
  2. Check, uninstall and polish temperature stages.
    • Radpour, Monin & Strandberg will help to clean indium off flanges and uninstall temperature stages.
    • Temperature stages will be stored in clean room after polishing outside to avoid contamination from residue.
    • During uninstallation, position of 600 mK rod should be noted for any evidence of contact with other temperature stages.
    • Codoreanu to finish write-up of temperature evolution.
    • Should be ready for installation by the end of this week.
  3. Bring mixing chamber RuO2 thermometer online.
  4. Fault with pressure sensor.
    • May simply require cleaning. Chagani to investigate and contact Pfeiffer. Not urgent.
  5. Leaky bottom flange.
    • Have not had any problems with this as of late. Perhaps due to finding the correct orientation. Flange may have warped a little during welding. Stick with current orientation and monitor progress.
  6. Change He-3 & He-4 pump oil.
    • May not have enough oil to change both. He-3 pump oil looks fine and will probably last until move to new building. He-4 pump oil is running out, and should be replaced by Chagani.

Run Plans

  1. Run 28 (G101b): Completed and G101b is on its way to Stanford. Paul wished to measure trench depths. It may come back to Minnesota if we need to perform another test.
  2. Run 29 (Flexible side coax): Completed. Fridge is warming up. Drop dewar tonight and uninstall tower tomorrow. Strandberg to perpare run summary page.
  3. Maintenance:
    • Thursday 7th June: take fridge apart; investigate positioning of 600 mK rod; uninstall, clean and polish temperature stages.
    • Friday 8th June: install third stripline on bench; fix mixing chamber Ru02 thermometer; seal off dump and cryopump remaining mixture out of He-3 pump exhaust; start evacuating mixing chamber lines.
    • Sunday 10th June: Change He-4 pump oil.
    • Monday 11th June: leak check mixing chamber lines; install temperature stages.
    • Tuesday 12th June: install striplines; complete fridge assembly.
  4. Run 30 (Maintenance): Should be ready to start on Wednesday 13th June.
  5. Run 31 (100 mm iZIP): Should be ready for crystal on Monday 18th June.
    • New source plate is not required.
    • Beta source will not be available in time.
    • Require new adapter plate:
      • Zhang to determine if design is practical. Will try to finalise design by end of the week to send to mechanical workshop.
    • Require SQUET card and position 1 side coax: Chagani to talk with Nader.
    • Require third DCRCv3 board:
      • Chagani to send boards to Sten tomorrow for upgrade. Will talk with Sten about third board.
    • Require faster switch:
      • Chagani to talk to Sten and Jeter.
    • Gamma shield status:
      • All lead pieces have been cut and polythethylene has been shaved.
      • Ready for dry run. Codoreanu, Kennedy & Baker to test assembly.
      • Conducting background measurements with gamma spectrometer. Aim to place spectrometer inside shield both with and without bottom shielding. Codoreanu, Kennedy & Baker involved in these tests.
      • May require additional aluminium sheets to prevent buckling. Codoreanu to investigate, and Chagani to order if needed.
      • Kennedy working on K100 simulation.

Daily Checklist

  • Radpour has prepared a checklist. Monin has been filling it in over the last couple of weeks.
